Prevent Physician & Med Student Suicide

Prevent Physician & Med Student Suicide We lose an estimated 400 physicians to su***de every year. Please help spread awareness. to help raise awareness of the medical community’s su***de epidemic.

On this day we will stand together in solidarity to say ‘no more.’

Please join medical students, doctors, administrators, friends, family, and Care2 members across the U.S. Together we will show those suffering in silence that they are not alone, we will start conversations to create change within our medical schools and hospitals, and we will pay tribute to those who have lost their lives. Come listen to speakers from the medical community share their experiences, observations, and ideas for how to combat the su***de epidemic. Bring your own personal story or ideas to share during the open mic portion of the event. And join us as we remember those who have lost their lives to su***de during the event’s closing candlelight vigil. If you would like your story or ideas heard, but do not want to speak yourself, send a written piece to DayOfSolidarityStories@gmail.com. Please include your city and state and whether you would like to remain anonymous or have your name shared during the event. If you are part of the medical community, please wear your white coat. If you are not, please wear a white shirt. Signs and candles will be provided by event organizers. This event is sponsored by Care2.com and will be filmed as part of the “Do No Harm” documentary produced by award-winning filmmaker Robyn Symon. Dr. Pamela Wible will be speaking at the DC location and staying after to have one on one groups. This photo cost me over $400,000. Under the law known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) passed in 2025, the federal graduate loan program known as Grad PLUS Loan will be eliminated for new borrowers starting July 1, 2026. Also starting July 1, 2026, new annual and lifetime borrowing caps will apply to graduate and professional (e.g., medical, law) students who begin a new program on or after that date. For graduate (non-professional) students:
$20,500 annual cap; $100,000 lifetime cap. For professional degree students (which includes many medical & law programs): $50,000 annual cap; $200,000 lifetime cap.
Only the wealthy will be able to get degrees.
HOWEVER! Maybe this will spark a change in the outrageous cost of tuition.
So what do you think these changes will lead to?

Physicians facing burnout need recognition and systemic reform rather than misplaced calls for greater resilience, which often ignore the institutional causes of their distress.

September is Su***de Prevention Month. First responders face unique challenges that can take a toll on their mental health. The chronic stress of their work places them at a higher risk for experiencing mental health symptoms, including thoughts of su***de.

In fact, the rate of suicidal thoughts among New York State first responders is four times higher than that of the general population.

This alarming statistic comes from New York’s inaugural First Responder Mental Health Needs Assessment, conducted by DHSES in partnership with the Institute for Disaster Mental Health and the Benjamin Center at SUNY New Paltz. To read the final report, visit https://www.governor.ny.gov/sites/default/files/2025-02/First-Responder-MHNA-Final-Report.pdf.

You are not alone. Help is available. If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988 or visit 988lifeline.org to connect with a counselor. Available 24/7/365.

Two weeks before the claim that Tylenol causes autism, I had submitted my own research on this topic: Commonly used medications and supplements in pregnancy:...

09/26/2025

I read the full paper, “Evaluation of the Evidence on the Developmental Toxicity of Acetaminophen Using the Navigation Guide Methodology.”

This review has been widely shared online as proof that Tylenol causes autism, but many people citing it haven’t actually read it. The key takeaways:

🔑The authors seemed to work in good faith and tried to control for biases.
🔑Some included studies had weak outcome definitions (like parent-reported “shyness”), while stronger outcomes (like official autism diagnoses) are much more reliable.
🚨Most importantly, the very last sentence of the paper says not to make a broad limitation of Tylenol the opposite of how it’s been portrayed.

Reading a study is not the same as understanding it. Proper training in research methods is essential for interpreting findings and making sound conclusions.
