Important update about my Uttoxeter classes and physiotherapy services!

I’m really sorry to share that my Wednesday evening yoga class in Uttoxeter (7pm–8.15pm), due to restart tomorrow, will not be running for the foreseeable future.

I’ve recently accepted a full-time physiotherapy role (Monday–Friday), and unfortunately this means I no longer have the capacity to continue teaching the weekly evening class alongside my new commitments.

I’ve also now finished using the treatment room at The Globe, so I am no longer offering private physiotherapy appointments from that location.

However, I’m excited to still be able to support you in other ways:

Limited private physiotherapy sessions are available on weekends only, at clients’ own homes – please get in touch if you’d like to discuss your needs.

I’ll be running a variety of yoga and wellbeing retreats throughout 2026 – details coming soon!

Online coaching and personalised programmes are also available if you’d like ongoing support from wherever you are.

I’m so grateful for the wonderful community we’ve built in Uttoxeter and for your continued support as my business evolves.

If you have any questions or would like to book a home-visit physio session, retreat place or online coaching, just drop me a message or comment below.

Thank you as always – I hope to stay connected in one of these new ways!

Winter mornings in the UK: a cosmic tease of light in the endless dark.

Pic 1: Stepping out under that haunting moon, the world still wrapped in night.

Pic 2: Sipping brekkie by the warm glow of my trusty halogen bulb—my hack to dial down the harsh blue from kitchen LEDs.

Pic 3: Cracking the window wide on the commute, inviting those first golden rays to kiss my skin.

Pic 4: And boom—that fiery red sunrise, painting the sky like a promise. In these short, gloomy days, chasing morning sunlight isn't just poetic; it's science-backed medicine for your body and brain.

Just 10-30 minutes of early sun exposure kickstarts your circadian rhythm, syncing your internal clock for better sleep and sharper focus.
webmd.com

It supercharges vitamin D production, bolstering immunity, mood, and even heart health by helping regulate blood pressure.

Think of it as a daily reset button against seasonal blues.

But here's the flip side—those ubiquitous LEDs we're all bathed in? They're not as innocent as they seem. Packed with blue light, they suppress melatonin (your sleep hormone), disrupt rhythms, and even deplete mitochondrial energy in our cells, potentially hiking risks for diabetes and vision woes.

UCL's Prof. Glen Jeffery warns that modern LED dominance—low on red, high on blue—is quietly undermining public health, starving us of the infrared wavelengths sunlight provides for cellular repair.
(Great Podcast with him on Huberman)

And just this year, scientists urged the EU to tackle the explosion of blue-rich LEDs across Europe, linking widespread adoption to melatonin crashes, sleep disorders, and broader ecosystem harm.

So, swap that cool LED buzz for warmer alternatives when you can, and prioritise those dawn chases.

Your mitochondria (and sanity) will thank you.

What's your winter light ritual?

Drop it below!

Midlife Movement Matters: Why I'm All In on Women's Functional Health Physio

Every year, 13 million UK women navigate peri- or postmenopause—yet MSK symptoms like joint pain and muscle loss steal their flow. As a specialist in women's functional health physiotherapy, I help restore that.

Here's why it hits hard (and how we fix it):

Over 70% of UK women in transition report joint aches, stiffness, or weakness—often dismissed as "ageing." But it's estrogen's exit disrupting bones, muscles, and mobility.

Early functional physio? It rebuilds resilience before it worsens.

14 Million Workdays Lost Annually: Hot flashes, fatigue, and pain mean 14 million lost UK workdays/year from menopause symptoms alone—hitting careers, confidence, and wallets.

For 25% with severe MSK issues, it's not just discomfort; it's reduced hours or exits from work we love.

The good news? Studies show up to 80% of women regain full function through functional physio—focusing on root causes like pelvic stability and strength, and guided nutrition, not just symptom relief.

No more sidelined; just stronger, freer movement.

I'm trained to spot these patterns and craft plans that fit your life.

Ready to move through midlife without limits?

DM for a chat.

Business/ Community Class update

Just a little update about classes for anyone that wasn't aware:

I have recently wound down many of my Yoga and Pilates classes so that I can focus a little more on some Physio work (Mainly over in Macclesfield).

I still have 2 classes running on Wednesdays -

9.30 - 10.30am at Hixon Memorial Hall
This is/has been a Slow Flow Yoga class which will keep the same format (no up and down throughout the class) so that it is available for all levels but I will bring a little more Pilates style exercises in to build core strength and maintain good posture.

7pm - 8.15pm - at The Globe Foundation, Uttoxeter
This class has been going strong for a while now and will be continuing. Make sure to book online as spaces can be limited.

I still have a clinic space in Uttoxeter for Physio, Health & Wellbeing and 1-2-1 sessions.

All booking for private sessions or classes can be done online:

Thank you everyone for the support so far and good luck to everyone who has attended classes over the past year. It has been amazing meeting so many wonderful people.
