If I can be half as ‘awkward, brave and kind...in the wobbliest of ways’ as this woman, I know I’m on the right track. Always comforting and inspiring to read Brene Browns words....

Like many of you, I’m feeling weary this week. Some days I feel on top of my anxiety and some days it crashes over me. Some days I jump out of bed and think, “I got this! It’s going to be OK.” Other days I just want to hide under the covers until the world gets easier and I have a pandemic end-date, a funded universal commitment to social justice, and a back-to-school plan that keeps students, teachers, and staff safe.

I finished reading The Gifts audio book this afternoon. It’s the first time I’ve read it aloud, and when I came across this amazing quote - reading it made me feel better.

When I first discovered this quote, I thought about the not-so-pretty details from my pre-sober, pre-breakdown-spiritual-awakening life. I thought about all of the proving, perfecting, and pleasing. I never thought about how to apply this learning to the “here and now.”

Today, this quote shook me by the shoulders in a different way.

Not only is it impossible for me to go back and make the old details pretty, I can’t make the new details pretty today. Uncertainty and anxiety drive me to hyper-focus on the details, but all that does is ramp up my fear and exhaustion.

I think I’m going to try to move forward - in the wobbliest of ways - and refocus on the beautiful whole: Love, rest, justice, walking, water, connection, self-care, sleep, and joy. I'll keep you posted.

As we find our ‘new normal’ with restrictions lifting, or going back into lockdown, this is a brilliant image to remind us of how our mood and behaviour may change under stress.

Tapping is a beautiful way to help calm your stress response however it may show itself.

Monday musings...

Over lock down I came across a beautiful set of cards, The Colour Mirror Oracle Cards, created by Moira Bush. The deck is based on the Colour Mirrors system; a system of colour analysis, founded by Melissa Jolly, based on the spiritual psychology of colour. After many years Moira launched an online course to learn how to use these cards and I jumped at the chance...

I have been using these cards ever since for my own growth and guidance and my clients- they continue to blow my mind. Honestly, they have been so spot on it's quite amazing!

So of course I wanted to share them with you....

Each Monday I will ask for guidance for the week ahead and share with you the card I pulled. The explanation of the cards are not my words but the guidance of the cards - take what resonates for you. Be inspired and curious - let the card help you find your way this week. It will be different for everyone and this is the beauty of these cards - they will mirror what you need.

And of course I am here to help you explore anything that may come up for you. We can tap, talk, use colour and chakra physchology and help you release any fears or blocks that are stopping you from moving forward.

This card is asking you to stop being so serious! Nothing is as heavy as it looks, it is all an illusion. This card gently asks you to stop trying to solve an issue by doing the same thing over and over. It encourages you to try something radically different!

For any of you who have ever done a session with me, you’ll know how much I love working with colour. Breathing a colour into our hearts to lighten and brighten any heavyness or darkness we are holding on to is such a beautiful and easy way to give ourselves what we need; trusting that we will always know what colour is right for us in that moment.
Why not give it a go! Just place your hands on your heart, close you eyes and think of a colour that makes you feel safe, happy, calm or full of joy and just take a moment to breath that colour into your heart or any part of your body where you feel heavy or in pain. And then breath that colour out.
Sit for as long as you need breathing that beautiful colour into your heart and out into the universe 🌈 can’t think of colour? Guess one! Or take inspiration from the colours that surround you - or even the colour you chose to wear today ❣️💐🌈 xx

I often get asked by clients - what should I say when I am Tapping on my own. I remember being new to Tapping and feeling exactly the same.
As you will notice in my videos I love to Tap by asking myself
- what am I feeling in this moment?
- where do I feel it in my body
- what colour is that feeling in my body (and if you can't see it then guess!)
However, even that can sometimes feel hard.
So, here is another way you can get going with Tapping.
Grab a piece of paper and a pen and write down everything on your mind. Write down all the things you have to do, or the feelings that are coming up for you, what you feel stuck about right now...just write what ever comes up and don't worry if it doesn't seem to make too much sense - all that matters is it makes sense to you - be it words or sentences.
When you are done you have basically created your own Tapping script and you can go through your Tapping points whilst reading these words aloud
My video explains just this and reminds you at the end to tear up your piece of paper or burn it - as once you've released what you needed to by Tapping - you no longer need to hold onto those words any more.
