Importance of Social Interaction leads towards Social Communication!

Expressive language skills include being able to label objects in the environment, describe actions and events, put words together in sentences, use grammar correctly (e.g. “I had a drink” not “Me drinked”), retell a story, answer questions and write short story.

Expressive language is important because it enables children to be able to express their wants and needs, thoughts and ideas, argue a point of view, develop their use of language in writing and engage in successful interactions with others.

It's not our job to make our kids happy. They are allowed to be 'sad' , 'upset' and feel however they feels. It's our job to hold space for all their feelings so they don't feel alone in their distress.

It's crucial to keep in mind that no matter how nonsensical and frustrating our child's feelings may seems to us, they are real and important to our child. It's vital that we treat them as such in our response.

Unless there is a risk of your child hurting themselves and you need to step in, when your child is having a meltdown or tantrum, your first step should be to calm yourself down. Very rarely does effective parenting happen when you are triggered, angry to stressed.

Peaceful parenting isn't about your ability to stop feeling what you feel. It's about separating your feelings from your actions.

Letting the feelings come.
Acknowledge them.
Letting them go.

Then responding with intention.

What is Stress?

Stress is a natural response to a threat or a challenge. It is your mind and body's way of preparing you to do your best. When a person experiences stress, their body may feel tense and they may have lots or things going through their mind.

Feeling very stressed all the time is not helpful. The more stressed you feel, the harder it is to cope with things going on around you. Stress can also lead to feelings such as anger, frustration, irrationality, anxiety, tiredness, despair and depression.

Children are likely to grow up happy and learn what is expected of them when their parents are calm and consistently using positive parenting strategies. It's important to understand, realize and manage your daily stress so that you can act and perform calm during the time you spent with them.
