About Me

I am a qualified Play Therapist and have a Masters in Educating Exceptional Students and Applied Behaviour Analysis. I have experience working with children with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties. I also have specialist experience working with children with Autism. I offer therapeutic intervention for children struggling in school due to their behaviour, family circumstances, mental health and special needs. This intervention is based on assessment and tailored to the child’s individual needs and abilities. I also offer group interventions which can help children express themselves in a safe place, explore coping mechanisms and work through/resolve any issues together. My sessions have helped children overcome difficulties with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation/challenging behaviour, parental separation, bereavement, abuse, confidence and self-esteem. My background in behaviour analysis allows me to work with teachers and SNAs to develop functional behaviour plans for children struggling in school due to behavioural difficulties. I offer “To Leave with Ease” a one-day workshop for children transitioning from 6th class to 1st year. Lastly, I offer animal assisted play therapy which is unique to me as I am the first person in Ireland who is receiving this training. Animal assisted play therapy is an innovative approach to the therapeutic process which has become extremely popular in the UK in recent years in improving the child’s developmental and psychosocial health. Ultimately my goal is to help the child reach their full potential in their school and home life.
