What is Reiki?
Usui Reiki is a Japanese energy healing practice that helps balance the body's natural energies.

The practice uses gentle touch or hands near the body to support relaxation, self-healing and deepened sense of well-being.

This Reiki training will teach you to safely channel this energy for your self and others with an emphasis on presence, compassion and respect.

What is a Reiki attunement?
This involves a guided initiation that opens a students energy channels allowing you to safely to access and channel Reiki for self-healing and supporting others.

To cultivate self-compassion and kindness toward yourself
To calm the nervous system and support emotional regulation
To reconnect with your body in a safe, respectful way
To develop trust in your own inner knowing
To learn a simple, hands-on practice you can use anytime—for yourself and loved ones

Reiki 1 is not about becoming a healer—it’s about remembering that healing begins within. From the heart. At your own pace.

Trauma Informed Ethical Principles will be shared and explored throughout this training.

If you are seeking tools for stress reduction, relaxation and radical self-care.
If you wish to develop energy awareness or grow intuitive awareness
If you are a caregiver, health worker or holistic practitioners who wishes to offer gentle healing support
If you are drawn to spiritual growth and growing in heartfullness practices

No prior experience or abilities are required, just bring an open heart and willingness to learn.

This course takes place over one and a half days.
Saturday 21st March 9.45am-5.30pm & Sunday 22nd March 9.45am-1pm
at The Garden Studio, Falkland Estate KY15 7AE

A little pre-course reading will be shared prior to the event to allow lots of practice time together.

Small groups – maximum 6 students
Cost: £150
(£50 deposit to book your space. Remaining payment of £100 is due at least one week prior to the course)

The cost includes refreshments and vegetarian lunch.
Reiki 1 manual & Reiki 1 certificate provided.

For those who have trained in Reiki, (any level/any style welcome!) this ongoing Reiki development group offers a supportive space deepen your practice and spiritual connection.

The event takes place in The Garden Studio in Falkland Estate on Sunday 1st March 2.30-5pm.

In this circle we will explore Reiki beyond technique and end with the opportunity to share Reiki.

Each circle will include:
*Nurturing our spiritual growth through exploring a Reiki based monthly topic
*Learn through shared experience
*Build confidence in your Reiki practice
*The opportunity to both give and receive Reiki

At this circle we will unpack the deeper spiritual meaning of the first Reiki principle - "Just for today do not anger" and practices to help us to live this principle

I will be sharing a beautiful Chakra Cleansing practice for our personal growth and development, and will lead you in a heart centred meditation. We will end by sharing Reiki with each other.

Hi
I'm Maggie McKeen the founder of the Heart of Fife School of Reiki.

I started my school of Reiki over 20 years ago quietly offering Reiki trainings to those who approached me with interest.

Recently, in response to the difficult times we are living in, I have been guided to actively promote these Heart-Centred Reiki trainings. The world is calling us to heal ourselves with awareness and an open heart. As we do this for ourselves, we do this for all others...

This has involved re-establishing the Heart of Fife School of Reiki and developing the focus of safety, ethics and trauma infomed approaches in all my courses and consciously developing a heart-centred appproach as offered by Dr Usui.

A little about me...

I come from an NHS nursing background. I have had a longterm interest in complementary therapies and when I experienced health issues that prevented me from working for several months I started to explore self-healing through Reiki and undertook Reiki training in 1998. Reiki has been part of my life ever since.

I have also been a Yoga Teacher since 2002, sharing traditional yogic practices and eastern wisdom teachings. I am a Heartfullness Meditation Facilitator & Yoga Minister.

Heart-Centred practice is so needed in the world at this moment in time and Reiki is such a gentle heart-centred practice to offer ourselves.

Reiki Level 2 builds on the foundation of Level 1, offering practical tools to deepen self-care and support others with clarity and intention.

Why Reiki Level 2?

• To learn symbols as tools to focus, amplify, and direct universal life force energy more efficiently
• To support emotional patterns and stress with greater steadiness
• To offer Reiki to others in a clear, respectful way
• To explore the practice of distance Reiki

This level emphasizes presence, ethics, and grounded application—bringing Reiki into real life, not just the treatment room.

Reiki Level 2 expands our capacity to work with others. With that comes responsibility, clarity, and care. In this training you will explore in depth the following core ethical principles of a Reiki practitioner.

Core Ethical Principles:
• Consent first — Reiki is offered, never imposed
• Humility — Reiki supports healing; it does not replace medical or mental health care
• Non-attachment — We do not fix, diagnose, or promise outcomes
• Clear boundaries — Emotional, physical, and energetic boundaries are essential
• Confidentiality — What is shared in session stays private
• Self-practice first — Ongoing self-Reiki keeps the work grounded and ethical
• Respect autonomy — Each person is the authority of their own body and choices
Distance Reiki Ethics:
• Always ask permission before sending
• Work with intention, not control
• Trust the recipient’s system to receive what is appropriate
Reiki Level 2 is not about power—it is about presence, responsibility, and integrity.

Small group, maximum 6 students.
Usui Reiki 1 certification is a pre-requisite. A copy of your certificate is required to book.

Case studies require to be completed prior to receiving your certificate.

You will be asked to undertake a small amount of pre-course reading and reflection prior to attending the training day
