Hi, I'm Yvonne Garcia and welcome to Unique Essentials by Yvonne. I'm a mom, wife, and passionate about helping women find vibrant health. I hold a Bachelors's Degree in Nursing and have been practicing as a Registered Nurse for the past 28 years. I'm a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and Certified Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor. You must be thinking, hmmm, those are different approache

s, aren't they? Yes, they are but trust me; it was the best part of my life journey, and let me tell you why and how this began. Being in the nursing profession, I thought I had a good handle on being healthy. I was doing everything I learned how to do. Low-fat, non-fat, calorie counting, taking over-the-counter medications for symptom relief when needed, eating as healthy as possible (so I thought), exercising, taking supplements, etc. It wasn't until I found myself suffering from a debilitating illness that ROCKED my world. So what happened? I was doing everything according to the books and how I trained as a Registered Nurse. Before I knew it, I was taking massive doses of prescription medication to help "heal my body," so I thought. Boy, was I in for a rude awakening! After suffering from MAJOR side effects and becoming numb to the world around me, I finally dared to say, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"! There had to be a different way to rid my body of this terrible disease. There had to be a way to get my life back. From that day forward, I decided to look "OUTSIDE THE BOX" towards something different. Something other than what I had been accustomed to doing all my life. Something that wasn't the norm for our Western Society. Yes, I took the Eastern Medicine approach. Imagine that this Registered Nurse trained in Western Medicine and knew nothing different was very blessed to find healing with an Eastern Medicine approach once and for all! My whole life changed for the best once I learned how to blend my Western and Eastern medicine knowledge. That's the future I see with regards to healing the body. We need to take a holistic approach to our overall health, not just take a pill and think everything will fix itself. We need to understand the importance of quality nutrition, stress reduction, removing toxicity, emotional balance, quality sleep, self-care, ​to name a few. This approach is how our bodies find balance and healing to keep us free from illness. I want you to find healing. To understand you are your best advocate for aiding your body's natural ability to heal. You have the power to change your health circumstances when given the right tools to support your health. It's just a matter of choosing to "THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX" and give your body the tools it needs to function correctly. I would love to help you understand the power of a holistic approach to healing your body naturally. With this concept, my friends, life will take a different approach for you, just like it did for me. I am forever grateful to have experienced this opportunity, which changed my health and life for the best! Now let's get started to help your body do the same!

Getting a proper amount of sleep is essential for maintaining good health. To help your body naturally fall asleep, here are some tips that I use to get a restful night's sleep!💤

1️⃣ Say goodbye to blue light: Exposing yourself to blue light from electronic devices before bed can disrupt your body's natural sleep-wake cycle. Turning off devices at least an hour before bedtime allows your brain to produce melatonin, a hormone that helps regulate sleep.

2️⃣ Create a cozy ambiance: Dimming the lights or using non-toxic candles can create a calm and peaceful atmosphere in your home. This can help signal your body that it's time to relax and prepare for sleep, promoting a more restful experience.

3️⃣ Sip on soothing drinks: Herbal teas like chamomile, lavender, or valerian root can have calming effects on the body, helping to relax your mind and prepare you for sleep. Golden milk, which typically contains turmeric and warm spices, has been praised for its anti-inflammatory properties and potential sleep-enhancing benefits.

4️⃣ Take a warm, relaxing bath with lavender or cedarwood essential oils, Epsom salt, and baking soda to calm and relax the muscles. Plus, this will give you the bonus of detoxing through the skin.
