What's involved in the program?

The program is available both in person, and as a virtual immersion. It is a self-paced program that provides ongoing support through online resources, business mentoring and connections made from Spacecubed’s Programs team to the startup.

Startups are invited to relocate to WA for up to 90 days, and support will be provided by Spacecubed’s Programs team to attain the correct Visa sponsorship. It is up to the startup to fund the travel, accommodation and living expenses while in WA. Spacecubed’s Programs Team will provide support where and if possible.

International startups and scaleups from Asia and beyond are invited, and supported along the way, to create global WA-based businesses.

Bamboo is a lightweight material and it is the right material for building a house in tropical weather.
On the contrary, cement and brick houses (thermal mass) which make up most of the newly built buildings in Sabah absorb and store heat during the hot day and these thermal mass release heat when the sun goes down making your tropical home hot at night.
Air-con is then used to cool down the room at night. This would be unnecessary if the house is built with bamboo or wood.
If you have a wooden or bamboo building today, would you tear it down and rebuild it with cement/brick?

A politician linked to wide-scale deforestation in the 1990s and his Panama Papers-named associate, a Singaporean shell company, and the owner of an agricultural consultancy in Australia are among the figures behind a controversial carbon trading deal worth an estimated $80bn in Borneo.

The Nature Conservation Agreement (NCA) ostensibly protects 2 million hectares (4.9 million acres) of jungle in the Malaysian state of Sabah from logging for the next 100 years.

The study, published in the Environmental Science and Technology journal, found that Malaysians eat an average of 502.3mg of microplastics daily per capita.

Malaysia was also among the top 10 countries that inhaled the most microplastic particles, at an estimated 494,000 microplastic particles a day per capita, according to the study.

Solutions:
1) Use less plastic if you can't stop using plastic.
2) Dispose plastic properly.
3) Clean up plastic waste in rivers, lands and ocean.
4) "To reduce microplastic uptake and potential public health risks, governments in developing and industrialised countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and North and South America should incentivise the removal of free plastic debris from freshwater and saltwater environments through advanced water treatment and effective solid waste management practices,”
