Dilynn: Unfinished January 2, 2026, Dilynn(16) sustained a TBI in a car accident. This page was created to share updates on Dilynn’s healing journey.

Dilynn’s airway scope is tomorrow with Dr. Dockery at 10:30am Eastern time. Please say a prayer that he finds that everything is working properly and that he feels confident that steps toward trach removal can be taken. Also, pray for comfort for her because if you’ve never seen one of these scopes done - it looks rough. 😓

Watching moments like this is hard to put into words. Seeing Dilynn communicate using her yes and no buttons is emotional in the best kind of way… but what moves me just as much is the love, patience, and dedication of the therapists walking this road with her every single day. They don’t just do a job—they truly care for her, believe in her, and keep showing up with hope and determination, even on the hard days when progress feels slow.

To watch someone speak to her with such kindness, explain everything to her, reassure her, and treat her with dignity means more than I can say. They see her. They believe she is in there. And they fight for her right alongside us.

We are so grateful for every therapist helping carry Dilynn through this. Their hearts, their skill, and their faith in her matter more than they probably know.

Today, the power of prayer felt so real in therapy. I am beyond thankful for every person who has prayed for Dilynn, lifted her name up, and believed with us for progress. I truly felt those prayers today.

During her CRS assessment (the Coma Recovery Scale, which is used to measure awareness and responsiveness after a brain injury), Dilynn showed some huge steps forward. She demonstrated functional object use by using a phone and using a white board with a marker appropriately. She also communicated using her yes and no buttons. These are meaningful, purposeful actions that placed her in the “emerging” level of disorders of consciousness today.

By Shepherd’s criteria, she needs to score at this level two more times to show consistency and officially be considered emerged from disorders of consciousness. We are praying hard for that breakthrough.

She also amazed me by holding herself sitting upright on a mat for around five minutes. Stronger every day. 💪

Today God reminded me that He is listening and that He is answering the prayers so many have faithfully prayed over Dilynn. I know there is still a journey ahead, but this was such an encouraging glimpse of His goodness and His power. Please continue praying for 2 more assessments with results like today and for progress to be seen on her scope this coming Wednesday. God is still moving, and there is so much more ahead.

I just got back to Atlanta and I’m ready for a new week of progress! We are praying for big steps forward this week—more healing, more awareness, more strength, and continued recovery.

Please also pray for good results from her scope on Wednesday and that it gives us the answers we need to keep moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for her and continues to pray for her. It truly means so much to us—more than we could ever fully express. We are deeply grateful for every prayer, every kind word, and every person who continues to stand with Dilynn and our family through this journey.

Dilynn has another scope scheduled for next Wednesday. We are asking for prayers that this shows the progress needed to move forward with getting her trach removed.

In therapy, she has shown a lot of progress with answering yes/no questions using Big Mac buttons. ❤️ Keep praying for big things to happen because I can definitely feel the prayers being answered.

She got to spend time with therapy dogs today 🐾 and we were able to get outside and enjoy the 87° Atlanta weather.

Please be praying specifically for:
• Strong, continued healing
• Positive results from the scope
• Clear airways and readiness to move forward without the trach
• Big strides in awareness, participation, and recovery

Thank you for continuing to pray for her. 💙

We are calling on all prayer warriors today.

Please help us lift Dilynn up in prayer as we ask for BIG strides toward her emergence from the disorders of consciousness phase. We are praying and believing for noticeable progress—more awareness, more participation, and continued forward movement.

We’ve started to see some increased agitation, which can actually be a sign of her brain waking up more and trying to reconnect. While that gives us hope, we are praying for clear, meaningful steps forward—moments of recognition, purposeful responses, and continued healing.

We have also been given an estimated timeline of about four more weeks for inpatient rehab (depending on insurance). We are praying that during this time, Dilynn makes significant, undeniable progress—big steps that move her forward in powerful ways.

Please pray specifically for:
• Increased awareness and responsiveness
• Stronger participation and interaction
• Healing throughout her brain and body
• Peace and comfort as she continues to recover
• Rapid, significant progress over these next few weeks

We are trusting God for COMPLETE healing and BIG steps forward. Thank you for standing with us, believing with us, and covering Dilynn in prayer.

Dilynn did some time on the Lokomat today. This was the first time she consistently kept her head up and watched herself in the mirror.

Dilynn got back up on her feet today for the first time since surgery. She tolerated it well.

During therapy, she also demonstrated functional object use by pulling the trigger on a Nerf gun. I can see improved core strength and upper body movement while she is seated in her chair in the way she leans her whole upper body forward.

We appreciate your continued prayers and support—specifically for complete healing and continued big steps forward in the days ahead.

Dilynn is still doing well post-surgery. Her swelling has been minimal. She slept most of the day the day after. Still been a little sleepier than usual today. Therapy started back somewhat yesterday. Her therapists came up to ICU to see her, helped get her dressed and out of bed. And she got to move back to her regular room yesterday. Therapy resumes full force on Monday.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and to Dallice for organizing this event. ❤️
