Join us! Zoom Yoga Class, this Sunday Nov 1 at 10am EST with Sam!

To say a lot of things require our attention right now is an understatement.

I imagine your inbox, your to do list, and all the things that take up space in your mind and heart are as full, busy, and active as ours are.

The one thing Sam and I keep coming back to -- despite the uncertainty, the change, the anxiety, you name it -- is that yoga practice, even virtually and especially together, is good medicine.

It's alchemy for frayed nerves and stiff, stuck bodies, and worried hearts.

It always, always lands us in a different place than where we started.

That's why we're committed to being a steadying presence in your life the next few weeks, reliably offering a chance to come together and practice.

We begin this Sunday, November 1 at 10am Live with Sam (recorded, if you can't make it to class!).

Will you join us?

Visit: https://www.thedailyvinyasa.com/live-classes to register.

We'll excitedly hope to see you there,
Cath & Sam

p.s. We're now offering class packages, to get you your best-priced investment and to re-commit ourselves to showing up for you! And if you already have your class package, don't forget to drop yourself into this week's class here: https://www.thedailyvinyasa.com/live-classes

Hello dear IG Fam!

Today is the last day to register for 40 Early Mornings, which begins this Saturday.

I’ll be popping in here less frequently after today too because while I believe the human spirit is a renewable resource 🙃 I’m also very aware that I only have so many hours in the day, so much any energy to offer at any moment.

So after registrations closes tonight, I can turn and offer all my work attention to our group (we are 30 people strong right now!).

The link is in my bio to join us. I’d love nothing more than to welcome you in too 💛

Xo

You can call it...

✨ ritual
✨ routine
✨ “good" habits
✨ rhythm
✨ daily practice
✨ mindfulness practice
✨ yoga practice
✨ meditation practice
✨ self-care

40 Early Mornings is ALL of those things and also ...

👏 Self-preservation.

💪 Radical Rest.

✌️ Essential soul nutrition.

In order to walk my own walk, I've decided to close the doors to this round of 40 Early Mornings on Monday, September 14.

The program begins next Saturday, September 19, and we are almost full.

When I rush or race or cram things in, I can't show up as my best.

And to hold the space for each of you, I need to be my best.

Simply a matter of self-preservation, you see?

Essential in order to take care of each other.

“Perfectionism is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people,” writer Anne Lamott writes (& you reminded me today!).

She’s right.

That’s why “practice” is the heart of 40 Early Mornings (and why I’m looking at my notes with my side eye in this video 😉).

Other quotes I live by, more about a practice & 40 Early Mornings in the video.

Plus, early bird pricing is still on thru 9.12. I can’t bring myself to turn it off. Cause I love you. And I want you here.

Big love,
Cath

I’ve been filming & recording meditations and yoga practices for 5 days now in my home, alone.

Holy wow this practice is hard.

I’ll be the first to tell you 🙋🏼‍♀️

Staying at the edge of discomfort (physically, mentally, societally) is tough. Not running is tough. Not diving for a distraction is tough.

But learning to stay, encouraging our capacity to stick with the tough stuff (and even keep a light touch around the good stuff), well those are good skills for good living.

If I can do this, I promise so can you 🙃

On the last of these morning chat & sits, I share some wisdom from one of my teachers, Parker Palmer.

I ground my teaching style in 40 Early Morning’s in Parker’s “community model of truth,” which allows us each to have a say, a voice, our own experience of “truth” in studying the subjects of meditation, yoga, and ourselves together. When we learn from the experience of each other, the lessons are that much richer.

I also read a few lines from Parker’s essay on Autumn because nature is truly one of the best teachers I know.

The notion that this fall is “scatter(ing) the seeds that will bring new growth in the spring — and scattering then with amazing abandon” is one I must believe right now.

All these influences and so much more make up the fabric of 40 Early Mornings.

Thanks for letting me share this with you. We begin September 19. Today is the last day for early bird pricing.

This weekend, I skillfully negotiated / sacredly claimed / lovingly bartered 3 days of space for myself to be alone, to create, to rest, to check in with big questions about what *I* want / need / desire.

(And I’m going to show you how to do just that for yourself too in 40 Early Mornings!)

I went live to talk about the content creation for this round of 40 Early Mornings which is completely co-created by YOU (what you’ve told me you need, where you’re stuck, where you want more justice and space and light and bravery for all of us).

So THANK YOU!

(And thank you to Sam who helped me make this space this weekend & popped into my live video to say 😍)

to join & 2 days left for that early bird price!

The least sexy advertisement for my upcoming meditation workshop, How to Pay Attention, coming up this Friday.

(Spoiler alert, this is not a 3-step guarantee you ever lasting peace 🤷🏼‍♀️)

And THE gift my meditation practice is giving me today (which might be a good reason still for you to check out the workshop 🙃)

I’d love to see you there ✌️ to register ✌️

Clearly VERY excited about this topic ☺️

A question I still get asked all the time (nearly 7 years later!) is this:

“Soooooo how did you actually quit your big fancy corporate lawyer job... to go teach yoga?”

(Which can also translate to: “are you crazy?!! But really tell me more...”)

It’s undeniable that the way we work, how we work, how we value work, what we give our time and efforts to is dramatically changing right now.

It seems like the perfect time to finally answer that question.

I’m planning a virtual workshop around this career transition topic (especially geared towards those stepping into something more aligned with their craft, their creativity, their heartfelt calling).

If this is YOU - send me a message, leave a comment & let me know —

If you’re on the verge of a big career shift, what do you want to know & how can I support you?

Here’s to big leaps,
Cath xo

“How to Practice Yoga on Vacation”

An essay I wrote last summer when international flights and vacations were still things...

Hope this brings back a fond memory for you too.

More like this in the August 21 virtual meditation workshop “How To Pay Attention” 🙃

Are you in the midst of a career change?

(Who isn’t, right?)

I’d love to hear from you.

What’s keeping you up at night?
Where’s could you use support?
What feels really good about this moment for you?

New virtual retreat weekend coming soon for those of us on the verge of something big. Stay tuned for details soon!

Can’t wait to hear your comments & messages on this topic!
