If you’re in transition, it’s a good opportunity to take the time to connect with yourself and dream about your future.

Your hopes, wants, dreams, goals.

I’m working through this in my midlife as a new empty nester and living between Colorado and Texas unsure of so many things.

I wrote the years and my age above each column. This way I would think about being 72 in 20 years.

Start with thinking of a big vision. Next what does that look like this year. Then move to 10 and 5 years from now.

I learned about the Coronary 🫀 Calcium Scan in Outlive 📖 by Peter Attia, MD.

Three of my grandparents dropped dead 💀 of cardiac events.

I called my local radiological provider and scheduled a scan. They asked if I had family history. When they wanted the name of the doctor that ordered it, I gave them my OBGYN (I don’t have a primary MD).

It was $125 out of pocket if insurance doesn’t cover it.

Because of my active lifestyle and healthy diet for so many years, I scored a ZERO!!!

A score of zero means no calcium is seen in the heart. It suggests a low chance of developing a heart attack in the future.

Woo Hoo!

If your score is higher, your doctor can help you with medications and you can always make lifestyle changes.

Remember it’s not what we do SOME of the time. It’s what we do MOST of the time.

It’s a moderate exercise level that you could sustain for a very long time.

Zone 2 training causes favorable adaptations in fat metabolism, allowing you to run faster while still burning fat for fuel rather than carbohydrates.

Zone 2 increases the number and efficiency of mitochondria.

I am in zone 2 playing Pickleball.
