The first time I had a depressive episode in college, obsessive planning (maybe my version of anxiety?) went along with it.

I read the book How to Stop Worrying and Start Living by Dale Carnegie at this time, and it helped me enormously. I recommend it to anyone who is trying to have more peace and less worry.

Sharing these good tips on how to fit exercise in! Having all my little people with me for 4 months straight has definitely made things more difficult. I need a better game plan!

Remember to ask your family for what you need! I tend to wait around until I think there is a lull in other people needing me. Which of course rarely happens.

Whether you resort to bribery, jungle-gym bootcamps or early-a.m. sessions, you’ll find a trick here that will make it easier for you to be a fit mom, too.

I don't think any mom in the world likes this question...especially at 5:45 p.m.

Easy, cheap, and healthy (serves about 2 people):

1 can blacks beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup salsa
Seasoning to taste (onion powder, garlic powder, taco seasoning)
Water enough to make it a soup consistency

Pour together in blender and blend until smooth. Then heat up on the stove or in the microwave.

Serve with instant rice, corn, shredded cheese, and/or any other toppings/sides you have on hand.

Take some time to notice what you're eating. It's not time to change it just yet--just notice.

The most helpful thing you can do is to track everything you eat. Doing it as you eat is helpful, but do whatever is possible for you right now.

Try downloading a free app like My Fitness Pal (www.myfitnesspal.com) to do just that. You have probably heard this tip before, and that's because it works!

After making sure you're not trying to hate your body into losing weight (which may work in the short term, but not in the long term), take some time to notice how you act around food.

When are you most likely to overindulge?

For me, it's right when I'm cooking dinner because I'm hungry, tired, and so are my kids. (Thus the graphic today. 😁 ) I reach for a snack because it makes me feel better for about 10 seconds in the midst of all the unpleasant feelings.
