Aside from the financial costs and the time consumed in the transportation of residents, we are much more convenient and much less disruptive by bringing the doctor and the equipment to the residents’ homes. We will provide comprehensive ocular exams with a primary focus on prevention. Comprehensive exams, include a refraction for an eyeglass prescription, a
dilated exam to examine the ocular health for any signs of diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, glaucoma, dry eye, cataracts, conjunctivitis. If any ocular medical condition requires further treatment, more than what we can provide at the home or facility, we will make an appropriate referral to the nearest medical facility for the most optimal care. About the doctor
Dr. Aditi Kakade began her experience in high school while reading to geriatric patients residing in a local nursing home. On a weekly basis she would go to the nursing home and read to those unfortunate residents who had lost their vision. With this experience, Dr.Kakade learned at a young age that she wanted to help improve vision for these residents! After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia, she moved to Philadelphia to attend Salus University where she received her Doctorate of Optometry. Shortly after receiving her doctorate degree, she moved to Chicago where she began working as a mobile optometrist throughout the Chicago area. She traveled to numerous nursing homes in the area, performing comprehensive eye exams. Additionally, she could provide residents with the tools needed to improve and maintain their vision. Dr. Kakade truly loves what she does for the residents at the nursing home. Everyday, she can come to their homes and help them see better. She realizes each patient has a different goal in mind and she enjoys working with each patient to reach their individualized goals of seeing the world around them! Additionally, she loves interacting with the residents and hearing stories of their lives.
