Chris Lüttichau founded Northern Drum Shamanic Centre in 1998, as an educational base from which to offer teachings of high quality and authenticity.

Chris Luttichau created Northern Drum Shamanic Centre in 1998, an educational organization running training groups, workshops and wilderness trips for the study of shamanism, medicine teachings, meditation and nature awareness. Chris began the shamanic path in 1980, and began studying shamanism in 1982. After 30 years of study with indigenous teachers and elders, Chris is now the keeper of an inte

gral body of teachings that he shares in workshops and ongoing one-year and three-year training groups. The teachings cover a broad range of topics from healing and dreaming to spirit contact and self-development. Chris is the author of ‘Animal Spirit Guides: Discover your power animal and the shamanic path’ (2009). He has appeared on TV on BBC 1 and in Denmark on TV2, and has done radio interviews in the USA, Canada, and the UK. Northern Drum offers a comprehensive body of universal, spiritual teachings covering all main areas of life. These include topics such as meditation, healing, spirit contact, self-development and empowerment, the council way, nature awareness and dreaming. The teachings we offer are both time-tested ones that have been shared by elders, shamans and medicine people, and those that have come to us in recent times. They bring the stability and wisdom of an ancestral heritage, and the excitement of what is new and relevant to our lives now. The path that these teachings offer can lead to a true homecoming, and fulfillment of potentials, dreams and visions. They can help you find greater harmony with self, with others, with the world around you, and with life in general. These teachings have the power to make the great circle of life more whole again, and are part of what people of old called the ‘original instructions’, guiding human beings in how to live. We hold the vision of a future for humanity that is in better balance with the Earth and all of creation based on the way of the heart and respect for all life. In our workshops and training groups, Northern Drum is committed to support you on a journey of awakening, empowerment, healing and transformation, which you can discover at your own pace. During the course of a year, you will be guided on a journey into the fascinating and empowering world of authentic shamanism.

Traditionally the focus of the shaman is the art of healing, and our one-year training reflects that. The shaman heals, not by his or her own power but by becoming a channel for higher forces that flow through the shaman to the person who needs healing. Native Americans call this ‘the hollow bone’, and in the Far East it’s called becoming ‘the hollow bamboo’. It requires that you surrender, so that you become an empty vessel through which spirit can work.

Embarking on this shamanic training will lead you into a powerfully transformative personal healing journey, enabling you to become a clear vessel for spirit. To become the hollow bone we first need to heal our heart and mind, and on this training you will use earth-based universal, spiritual ways to bring yourself into balance.

The training provides a sound, safe, grounded and comprehensive understanding of the basic healing skills and knowledge you will need to practice shamanic healing, if that is what you, and spirit, decide to do.

We will work as a tribe, the way the old people did, and feel the safety, holding and reflection of this healing dynamic. Individuals will be guided according to their needs and encouraged to achieve their fullest potential within the circle.

The training is for beginners as well as those who already work with the principles of shamanism and want to go deeper.

This workshop is an important foundation for any further shamanic study you might want to do. It introduces you to some of the core methods used in shamanism and helps you establish your own relationship to them.

We will spend time creating a strong, safe bridge to the spirit world, which can lead you and support you into your future. The relationships you make with the spirit teacher and your spirit animal are the key to the Doorway. It is suitable both for beginners and for those who want to deepen a link they have already established.

This workshop will help you open your own doorway to the spirit world, and give you the fundamental tool of journeying, together with other key shamanic practices. These can lead you towards reclaiming the ancient wisdom buried within your DNA, and so to your true, authentic power.

Lucid Dreaming with Chris Lüttichau

This training will give you the very best methods for learning lucid dreaming. ‘Lucid dreaming’ is a modern term for an ancient practice that teaches how to become aware of the fact that you are dreaming, while asleep. This awareness provides opportunities for making conscious choices and directing your dream, while sleeping. It opens the door to personal growth, empowerment, awakening, adventure and healing.

Lucid dreaming is at the very heart of shamanism, and there are tribes where the shaman is called ‘the one who dreams.’ It has been practiced by shamans, yogis, and mystics for thousands of years. It enables you to journey into other realms, to connect with guides and teachers, to overcome fears, to shapeshift, and many other feats.

Chris was initiated into lucid dreaming in the early 1990s, and the teachings on this training are the essence of three decades of experience.

The training consists of four separate days over two months. Each module will give you techniques and exercises that you can practise between the sessions so that there is plenty of time for integration.

Each of the four days is a seven hour workshop that starts at 2 PM UK time, 9 AM US Eastern time, in order for people to participate internationally. Our online trainings closely mirror our physical training courses. They are a live, interactive experience with opportunities to work within the group and ask questions.

Big changes are occurring on the planet, and they are happening at high speed, which for many can feel overwhelming. These times of great change have been the subject of prophecy for many generations.

Participants in this workshop will be given guidance based on ancient time-proven methods on how to adapt to changes in a world that is transforming rapidly.

One of the key themes will be how to develop and embody resilience, something that indigenous peoples have had to discover over the last 600 years.

You will be guided on how to work with difficult situations, and accessing the resources and the ability to cope with whatever life brings. Adversity is part of life, and can be a stepping stone to empowerment, and with the proper approach, it can lead to growth, expansion and homecoming: knowing your true self.

As a part of this roadmap, you will learn how to awaken your instincts and intuition so that you can access guidance for yourself and others when needed.

The Star Bird - Remembering who we are

This is the time of the arrival of the swallows. Migrating from the south, seeking the light and the long days of the northern hemisphere, they bring a message of illumination, clarity and renewal. The song of the swallow is one of joy and optimism, and it invites our spirit to take wings and fly. When the swallow arrives after a long winter, we know that spring has come and with it growth, warmth, light and hope.
