How often have you heard a dad's perspective on having a child with cancer? My guess is not much. I still remember this conversation with Brien's Wrestle against Leukemia - A.L.L It was my first time speaking with a dad, and I loved what he had to say. Here is some more of what he told me, in addition to the quote above.

"We found hope from within and in watching Brien keep his calm and remaining the positive kid he was before his diagnosis. It taught me to have more patience, grace, and mercy. It showed me the strength and resilience of our family as well. When Brien ended his chemo treatments on 10/10/2020, we started our family owned and operated Italian Ice vending trailer with what we had left in savings in the hopes of regaining some sense of financial stability and also show Brien and his sister some work ethic. We still aren't where we need to be financially but that's ok because we have Brien. Impak Ice Premium Italian Ice "We aim to make a different type of impact". Our tagline came from Brien's positive impact, we just switched up the spelling." -dad

Brien has had some great things going on this summer. He had the opportunity to learn critical life and job skills outside of running his own business. To say that we are proud of him is an understatement. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity for him and look forward to the next chapter
