AmaJima HealthandNutrition Health and Nutrition ekasi Today the concept has grown, matured and evolved with powerful participants shaping it according to their valuable input and needs.

Amajima is a Health and Nutrition platform Ekasi designed to encourage exercise, healthy diet and natural organic vitamin supplementation as a way to promote good health within local South African communities. It was originally started by an part time organic supplement distributor who after seeing how natural organic supplements improved his health, mental agility and energy level sought to find a way to communicate the importance of good nutrition and health as a way of not only as a means of developing urban black communities lacking in natural fresh nutrient rich food but also saw it as a way to advertise and distribute health products. He then started collecting names and phone numbers for watsapp chat at his full time work gym called Umjantshi house where where a gym facility was provided for Prasa employees and followed with other gym facilities such as gym company and Virgin Active. Proper Nutrition will develop our mental and well as physical performance improving our productivity, decision making physical development as well as quality of life. This will impact on many aspects of life including economics and sports performance especially if proper nutrition is introduced from early childhood. Our strength is information exchange and knowledge empowerment. Through information we can motivate South Africans especially in urban townships where there is a lack of home grown fresh food to develop discipline in exercise and proper diet. Jimas are encouraged to indulge in as much fruit and vegetables as possible as they carry energy, vitamins, minerals, phyto nutrients as well as anti oxidants to keep bodies healthy young, energetic and mentally agile. Protein rich meat in proper portions is encouraged as the body can only absorbs a certain amount of protein at a time. High carbo hydrates such as Pap, sugar and bread is highly discouraged as we believe it has played a major role in making South Africans generally obese mainly because modern South Africans have developed a high carbohydrate intake culture. The irony in this modern carbohydrate consumption culture is that not only is it excessive but it is mistimed and add to that has become unnecessary as technology and machinery has made it even more unnecessary to over indulge in carbohydrates while pollution and food processing had made it even more necessary to indulge in fruit and vegetable for energy and anti oxidants. We also encourage the use of teas as alternatives to sodas as teas can help our bodies release energy and provide nutrition depending on their nutrition content

Considering the low quality of shelf life, genetically modified and processed food we also encourage Jimas to supplement with high quality organic supplements such as from Nutrilite (Amway) as organic supplements are better absorbed into the system than synthetic vitamin supplement. Among many other methods, as a group started by an independent Amway Nutrilite supplement distributor amaJima is independently developing unique a way to capitalize using this international Company.
