Back to school = back to lunchboxes 🎒
Here’s a simple high-fibre upgrade 💜

A healthy tummy does more than just prevent discomfort
it helps your child feel confident, focused, and ready for the day.

As parents, we all want our children to thrive, and sometimes the smallest choices (like what goes into their lunchbox) make the biggest difference.

Fibre helps:
✔️ Keep stools soft and easy to pass
✔️ Support a healthy gut microbiome
✔️ Prevent constipation
✔️ Keep energy levels steady for school

The best part? It doesn’t have to be complicated.
Simple snacks like fruit, wholegrains, and fibre-rich options go a long way.

We’re all learning together in the Good Poo Village 💜

Today the world stops to honour the surgeons who operate on the smallest, most precious patients of all.

Paediatric surgeons carry a weight most of us will never fully understand. The long hours. The steady hands. The quiet courage it takes to walk into a theatre and give a child their life back.

If a paediatric surgeon has ever touched your child’s life, you know. No words come close.

To every paediatric surgeon in South Africa and across the world. Thank you. What you do matters more than you will ever be told.

Tag a paediatric surgeon who deserves to hear it today.

Is your child Eating well but still Low on iron.

You try so hard to feed your child lekker food rich in iron, but sometimes it doesn’t quite work out. Think of it this way: dairy like yoghurt acts like a little gatekeeper in your child’s tummy. It stops the iron from coming in properly.

Did you know your chest is smarter than any incubator? 🫀
Every time you hold your baby skin-to-skin, your body literally adjusts its temperature to match what they need — warming them when they’re cold, cooling them when they’re not. Scientists call it Thermal Synchrony. We call it your body knowing exactly what to do.
In a NICU, hospital bacteria get to your baby first. Kangaroo care changes that. Your skin passes your friendly microbes directly to their gut — crowding out the bad bacteria and laying the foundation for a healthy microbiome.
Swipe through to see how it works,
Start small. Even 10 minutes counts. Ask your care team when you can begin.
Your touch is medicine.

Skin grafts are when a piece of skin is taken from another part of the body and transplanted to an area where there has been skin loss. It may also scar- but it accelerates healing and there are steps we can take to prevent ‘ugly scarring’ 💕ask me all the questions… even anonymously (if you feel you have to)… but I hope by now you feel like we can just chill and chat.

GEMS TANZANITE ONE OPTION DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL DELIVER YOUR BABY AT A PRIVATE HOSPITAL.

The Gems medical aid sent a communication to private hospitals and to its clients that as from 1 January 2026 get will only cover emergency procedures at private hospitals and will not cover cancer treatment at private hospitals.
All non qualifying patients must go and be attended at public hospital.

MY ADVICE: UPGRADE TO OTHER OPTIONS IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO GET PREGNANT AND WANT TO DELIVER AT A PRIVATE HOSPITAL.

I have posted a communication we got from the hospital in my comments below regarding the Tanzanite option

So hopeful. Yay!!!
