Meet Lelani Pierrie, co-owner of Jump-Aholics Benoni and Jump-Aholics Rowhill — a true warrior in every sense of the word.
In 2017, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Surgery followed. Remission came.
But the battle didn’t end there.
In 2018, she was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
Further tests revealed more challenges: • Bradycardia (heart rate dropping as low as 36 bpm)
• Spondyloarthritis
• The need for heart surgery to insert a loop recorder and emergency device
She has endured cortisone IV drips, injections, multiple chemo-based treatment trials (Methotrexate, Rheumalev, Salazopyrin, Plasmoquin), spinal procedures due to spine deterioration — and 13 tablets a day.
Now she stands at the final stretch before qualifying for biologic treatment — one injection a month instead of daily medication.
But here’s what matters most:
She still shows up.
