Residents from the care centre at Witfield Park just love the pool noodle air hockey game. It's a fun way to interact with each other and exercise your brain and hand-eye coordination. All you need is a table, a ping pong ball, and an empty tissue box, and Bob's your uncle! Thank you to the lifestyle team for incorporating this great new activity.

Residents of Witfield Park were in for a special event as resident, David van der Merwe, hosted a lovely wine tasting. His extensive knowledge gained over many years was evident in his presentation. Residents could taste a variety of wines enjoyed with a cheese platter. We were privileged to have Ashley Hoods, a Ward Counsellor, attend the function and get to know our residents. Thank you, David, for this memorable evening.

As they say, if you don't use it, you lose it! Residents at Witfield Park love staying active and engaged. As part of our lifestyle program we have the Jolly Gymmers group that combines chair gym and aerobic exercises to stay fit and healthy. This group has really grown in popularity - not even the cold weather is a deterrent. What a beautiful event with beautiful ladies! For Mother's Day, the Witfield Park hall was utilized to its full capacity for the Mother's Day breakfast arranged by our lifestyle team. Pieter Jansen van Vuuren was the artist for this event and with his lovely voice, added to this amazing event. His mother, Jansie Janse van Vuuren, baked and decorated these beautiful biscuits for each resident. From all of us a huge THANK YOU! Thank you to each mother, aunt, grandmother, sister or step-mother who attended. We treasure you! Last, but not least, to the amazing lifestyle team for creating such a beautiful, decorated venue and tables, making everyone feel special.

For our first event to kick off the "Go Turquoise for the Elderly" campaign, the lifestyle team at Witfield Park arranged a talk presented by lawyer, Chris van Straaten, on Living Wills and Estate Planning. Residents could ask questions and were informed of various legalities when creating a will. Residents then joined us in decorating the village with the turquoise flags to create awareness of the campaign and the rights of older persons.
