Have you ever wondered what will happen if you autistic or special needs child (verbal or non-verbal) is in a car accident? You or the driver could be unconscious, or worse. Your child could be hurt and awake, or unconscious. How will medical personnel know what to do with your child, or what the diagnosis is?
SILENT BUDDY TM was created and trademarked by the Mickey Foundation for autistic and special needs children and adults.
It all started off with us creating seat belt covers for autistic children and adults, especially those who are non verbal.
We then thought a bit more about special needs, and realised there are many, many special needs (medically) out there.
These covers highlight the special need/medical condition, with some details on the front: e.g.

The seat belt cover is there to provide useful information to medical personnel, should the individual be involved in a car accident.
The cover is extremely noticeable and contains a card on the inside with all details needed to act quickly and decisively, which could ultimately save the person’s life.
The seatbelt cover is made of polyester, with PVC backing. The material is watertight, and a transparent PVC file houses a card with the details of the individual. The velcro is made from a nylon and polyester mix and the thread used is a spun polyester.
The cover is easily and fully washable and fits all types of seat belts. It is flush with the seat belt, so it is not irritating or uncomfortable. The material is extremely robust and will last for years.
