2 days after completing the Whale Trail hike, I take the best photo of all. Blue cranes and bird life singing in the enormous puddle. I did not even have to move off the road to capture this Overberg beauty! This is why I always get back on the bike...

Yesterday we explored Kalk Bay and stayed with friends in Fishoek because I was supposed to run a race in Simon's Town. Then Riaan Louw had an opportunity to play in a golf competition so I ran in Paarl instead. We spent most of the weekend in the car, but it was still great to see our friends in the south.

My birthday gift from my husband was an entry out and back run so I navigated my way from the Stellenbosch shop to the Jonkershoek gate. It was a tough run out because I wasn't sure of the route and my phone battery had died. I had no navigation (other than a few route markers on trees), no music and very little energy, but luckily the run back was easier and ai was rewarded with my first .coffee
