This was our first logo for Nexmed, designed by me in 2019.
At the time, I was inspired by a scene in The Founder, where Ray Kroc gazes up at the McDonald's Golden Arches and calls them "glorious." That moment was pivotal - he saw not just a small restaurant but the potential for something much bigger, a global empire.
Thatโs how I feel when I look at our 'Glorious N'. To me, it represents boundless potential - it could be anything, even global!
When we first launched Nexmed, many told me, โDonโt worry about the little things like logos, colors, or brand kits. Just get started.โ While I understood their good intentions, branding was never a 'little thing' to me. Getting it right from day one was fundamental.
Your brand is your credibility, your image, the essence of who and what you are known for. It must be crafted with integrity and enthusiasm. Itโs not something to be toiled with lightly. Like a lighthouse, your brand is what guides you back to your core DNA, even when things get tossed around.
Now, as we embark on our rebrand, we are not losing our โGlorious N.โ There will be changes, but the next chapter of Nexmedโs story will reflect both growth and continuity.

๐ Today marks a significant milestone โ five years of relentless building, pivoting, and navigating. When I started Nexmed, there were no funds, no products, and no customers. By God's grace, I have built everything from the ground up, brick by brick. It hasnโt been an easy journey. In fact, itโs been the most difficult thing Iโve ever done, filled with sacrifices and challenges I never imagined. Entrepreneurship is not for the fainthearted ๐
๐ But through it all, one thing remains constant: Godโs unwavering faithfulness. He has kept us, sustained us, and energized us through both the good days and the tough ones. For that, all glory goes to Him.

Nexmed Healthcare Solutions was founded by Jonathan Burger in February 2018, and officially launched on 1 September 2019. Jonathan has always had an entrepreneurial business spirit, coupled with a genuine need to always want to help people and impact their lives for the good.
Jonathan started in the medical sector straight out of high school, and held his first position as a porter in an academic hospital in Cape Town South Africa, pushing patients too and from their destination. His step dad was a senior firefighter and paramedic and Jonathan spent many years growing up as a young boy at the fire station and observing emergency medical services. He moved on to hold many positions in the medical sector for leading healthcare institutions.
Given his exposure to the emergency medicine, it was only fitting that Jonathan went on to pursue a career in healthcare, which started off when he studied to be a BLS paramedic, wanting to become an ALS paramedic. He still has a major passion for emergency medicine.
Still having an unfulfilled appetite for business, he went on to study his Bachelorโs Degree in Financial Management, his Honours in Financial Analysis and continues to study towards his Masters and then PhD in Health Innovation, bringing both passions of medical and business into union.
Having worked for some of the biggest medtech companies in the world in senior operations positions, namely Stryker and Medtronic, Jonathan wanted to bring his desire of owning and building his own medtech company to reality.
