It's Fire Cider season!
This time of year, we like to get a batch of Spicy Fire Cider goodness brewing.
We recommend this Fire Cider tonic for those who deal with candida problems, or to ease cold and flu symptoms like congestion and phlegm.
This is a traditional recipe using anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and immune boosting foods.
Here's how to make your own at home!
Ingredients:
• 1 medium onion, roughly chopped (about ½ cup)
• 1 bulb of garlic, peeled and roughly chopped
• ½ cup ginger root, peeled and roughly chopped
• ½ cup turmeric root, peeled and roughly chopped
• ½ cup horseradish root, peeled and roughly chopped
• 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced
• Organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar, with “the mother” (enough to cover the ingredients)
Instructions:
1. Place the garlic at the bottom of a quart-sized mason jar. Add the onion, ginger root, turmeric root, horseradish root, and peppers on top of the garlic.
2. Add enough apple cider vinegar to cover the ingredients. Cap tightly and leave the jar undisturbed for 2 weeks.
3. After 2 weeks, strain and discard the herbs. Pour the steeped apple cider vinegar into a clean jar and cap.
4. Store in the refrigerator and take 1 tsp daily or as needed.
Bottoms up!
