StethStories 🩺 Sesethu Kunene
Meet Sesethu Kunene, an MBChB student at UCT whose journey reminds us that the path to purpose isn’t always a straight line.
“My journey to med school has been anything but linear.
After completing matric, I initially pursued a degree in Accounting at UCT. However, deep down, I always knew that my true passion lay in medicine.
Despite a few rejected applications, I refused to give up. And finally, a degree later and after years of persistence and unwavering determination, I got the breakthrough I had been working for—I was accepted into UCT Medical School!
Since then, my journey in medicine has been nothing short of fulfilling and enriching. Every day reaffirms that I am exactly where I am meant to be, doing what I was always meant to do.
To everyone in this community: keep pursuing your dreams. Your aspirations are valid, and with the right mindset and relentless determination, they are absolutely attainable! Keep going—you’ve got this!” — Sesethu Kunene
Her story is your reminder: detours aren’t dead ends.
Keep going. You’re closer than you think.
