Recent research conducted at Harvard University found that people who had the most dairy fat in their diet had about a 50 percent lower risk of diabetes.
This research is interesting because it started in the late 80s and spanned 20 years during which researchers measured dairy fat consumption via indicators in their blood, and tracked whether they developed diabetes.
In explaning this effect, the researchers suggest that the higher fat intake may make people less hungry to eat other foods as there's evidence that when people consume more low-fat dairy, they eat more carbohydrates as a way of compensating.
For a long time people have been taught that saturated fat, like the type found in dairy products, is bad for health.
Definitely, it is time to reconsider.
