With his recent passing, he left behind a legacy that profoundly reshaped modern childbirth 💫

He dedicated his life to making birth a more peaceful, powerful, and physiological experience for mothers and babies 💚

✨ He popularized the use of water for labor and birth in the 1970s. A true pioneer of the “birth pool.”

✨ He understood the importance of the birthing environment, emphasising the importance of a calm, private environment for laboring moms.

✨ He was one of the first to deeply research and discuss the crucial role of oxytocin—the “hormone of love”—in birth, bonding, and lactation.

His legacy lives on in every gentle birth and every advocate for change 🪷
