Huis Zonnekus Home for the Aged

We're inviting applications from qualified and experienced South African citizens for two Enrolled Nurse (Staff) positions. These are full shift-based roles (approx. 40 hours/week).

🩺 Key Responsibilities:
• Lead nursing shifts and manage staff effectively
• Plan and implement care based on residents' needs
• Ensure care standards and protocols are followed
• Administer and manage scheduled medication
• Supervise enrolled nurse assistants and caregivers
• Maintain professional, ethical elderly care

✅ Minimum Requirements:
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Personal indemnity insurance
• Diploma in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Willingness to work shifts (days, nights, weekends, public holidays)
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of the Nursing Act & Older Persons Act

🌟 Mandela Day 2025 at Huis Zonnekus 🌟

On 18 July, we were truly honoured to be chosen by Miltons Matsemela the Conveyancers as the beneficiary of their 67 minutes for Mandela Day – a time dedicated to caring 🤝 and giving back to communities in need 💛.

Their amazing team spent the morning with our dear Residents and staff, sharing heartfelt conversations, laughter, and love 💞 that truly touched us all.

We were incredibly blessed to receive a generous donation of toiletries 🧼🪥 and funds 💰, both of which are so needed and deeply appreciated 🙏.

But the kindness didn’t stop there… Our 67 minutes went far beyond just 67 minutes! 🕒 Residents enjoyed a sweet treat 🍰 with their tea ☕, and we had the pleasure of giving the team a brief tour 🏠 of our special Home.

Thank you, Miltons Matsemela, for your visit, your smiles 😄, and for warming our Home with your compassion and care 🌹💖. You truly made Mandela Day unforgettable!

🎉 A Golden Celebration with Feedem! 🎉

This year, our incredible catering and cleaning partner, Feedem, is celebrating an amazing 50 years of excellence — and what better way to mark the occasion than with a special treat for our residents! 💛

Our dining hall was transformed with beautiful décor in true celebration style, and our residents were spoiled with a delicious lunch and decadent dessert, all thoughtfully prepared by the Feedem team. 🍽️🍰

To top it off, the Feedem staff made a joyful entrance in their festive birthday attire, bringing energy, smiles, and even a celebratory dance! 💃🕺

We are deeply grateful for Feedem’s continued commitment, care, and exceptional service. Here’s to 50 wonderful years — and many more to come! 🥂

🎨✨ One of the most special times in our week is when Yolanda and Lily from The Imagination Station visit our Home! These two beautiful souls generously volunteer their time, bringing joy, creativity, and connection to our dear Residents through the most wonderful arts and crafts sessions. 💖🖌️

Each session is filled with laughter, inspiration, and meaningful moments — it's truly a highlight that everyone looks forward to! 🌟

We were also treated to a very special performance by the talented Mika, whose piano playing filled the home with beautiful melodies and heartfelt emotion. 🎹🎶

From all of us — THANK YOU Yolanda, Lily, and Mika. Your presence brings so much warmth and happiness, and we want you to know just how deeply we appreciate and love you! 💐❤️
