Overcome : Bruised not Broken I wanted to create a platform where people can share their stories. Whatever it may be that they had to overcome.

A place where others can come to see they are not alone in their struggles and hopefully find the strength to move forward.

13 IV’s, 5 weeks, 5 operations, 4 doctors, way to many drugs…60+ doses of antibiotics, 115+ staples and 1 coccyx later…I have been discharged from hospital.

A long road of recovery ahead. New diet plans, healthier and better lifestyle required. A mental shift needed to be better and be able to live a full life as I had intended…this will be challenging but like all challenges I aim to tackle this head on and kick its ass up and down the street!!

Moving forward and up is the only option from here!

It’s been a minute so I thought I’d pop back into the hospital. Turns out yet another bone infection snuck in, this time the victim was my coccyx which has now left the building. Lots of meds going down and some reconstruction surgery on Saturday plus roughly a month in hospital.

Today marks 2 years since one epically s**t day. That said, it’s been a helluva ride (yes that is a wheelchair joke). From not being able to move or talk, to rehab, to adapting to life in a wheelchair, to learning to drive (and have to do my damn license again). It hasn’t all been great...there are tough days, physically there are many, mentally and emotionally is and always will be a challenge. Waking up from vivid dreams where you could walk or move your legs, just to realise that’s not the case. Make no mistake, this is one insane challenge, but I will overcome this, I will be stronger everyday and in time I will heal!

Not all the things I do always go as planned, but this was an entertaining little moment where my legs were having a mind of their own.

I am actually normally quite tall, 6ft4 to be exact. I’ve now experienced both sides of the coin. Being extremely tall and being short. Here I am practicing to get to that again.

Today was a hell of a workout. A short clip of some of what I got up to. Working on core, shoulder and back strength and stability which I am definitely going to need before walking again

It’s been 8 and a bit months since my last Physio session. Today was a bit of a workout which included some boxing, core strengthening and a little dancing coz why not?
