The body is in constant communication, bridging information held in our subconscious with the conscious mind. Long before disease appears, the body is speaking quietly, through changes in posture, breath, tension, mood, sleep, digestion, energy.
Much of what we now call illness is the result of a long breakdown in translation.
Over time, humanity has lost both the ability and the inclination to listen to this language. We have been trained to override discomfort, suppress symptoms, and outsource meaning to external authority. Pain has become something to eliminate, rather than something to understand. Sensation something to numb. Fatigue something to push through. Sadness something to medicate.
In doing so, we’ve lost intimacy with one of the most intelligent systems we have.
The body does not speak in words. It speaks in rhythm, pressure, contraction, heat, numbness, craving, resistance. It speaks through the nervous system, through fascia, through instinctive movement and emotional tone. These signals are coherent responses to lived experience, stress, relationship, environment, and unresolved threat.
When the body is not listened to, it does not stop communicating. It simply finds ways to speak louder and get your attention.
True cure is not about fixing a broken machine. It is about restoring relationship. It is about learning how to listen again, slowly, safely, and without fear. When the nervous system feels safe enough, the body begins to tell a different story. One that is more precise. More nuanced. More compassionate .
The sacred language of the body has never been lost.
We have simply forgotten how to hear it.
Join me for an online workshop on how to learn to listen to the language of the body.
