Job description:

A competent Estimator/Pricing Clerk is required for a site services / construction firm based in Cape Town.

Please note: Only applicants residing in Cape Town and surrounding areas and able to start immediately or shortly should apply.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Utilise job cards and material lists received from Technicians to price/quote on jobs.
• Quantify and calculate material requirements and site measurements.
• Price and compile quotations for reactive Insurance jobs (Plumbing, Building and Electrical) in alignment with Insurances rates tables.
• Price reactive jobs (Plumbing, Building and Electrical) to produce quotations for Facilities Management clients.
• Price reactive maintenance jobs to submit quotations to Private Clients.
• Adhere to Insurance SLA's in pricing of jobs and turn-around times (TAT).
• Adhere to In-house turn-around times (TAT) for pricing of jobs.
• Ensure accuracy in terms of rates, call-out fees and after hour rates.
• Ensure all materials and labour (as per job cards) are accounted for.
• Submit priced jobs for approval by management.
• Submit approved quotations to Contact Centre Staff for submission to Insurance Houses, Facilities Companies and Private clients.
• Keep track of jobs priced on a daily basis and keep pricing register up to date to ensure all incoming jobs are priced.
• Work closely with Procurement Dept to obtain cost of materials.
• Daily, Weekly & Monthly cost reports.
• Measure and price planned jobs for estimates from outset until completion (Insurance, Retail, FM’s, Tender Markets and Private Portfolios).
• Visit sites for measurements and assessments.
• Attend tender briefings.
• Price and ensure on-time submission of Tenders and Quotes.
Experience:
• Knowledge of the construction/built environment.
• Product & supplier knowledge.
• Knowledge of facilities management industry will be advantageous.
• Min 2 - 3 years' experience functioning in an Estimator Pricing capacity in the built/construction industry.

Requirements:
• Minimum matric.
• Relevant experience as a Costing/Pricing Clerk, Estimator or Junior QS.
• Diploma in Building/Construction Management (e.g. BTech) will be advantageous.
• Proven Track Record.
• Fully computer literate - MS Excel at advanced level.
• High level of numeracy (essential)

A leading site services specialist firm in Cape Town is looking for an appropriately qualified, dynamic and highly competent Manager to steer and oversee the technical operations of their Plumbing, Building and Electrical Departments.

The incumbent will plan, direct, lead and evaluate all Plumbing and Building jobs, including the management of field technicians (Plumbing, Building and Electrical teams).

This position is based in Cape Town and candidates applying must have relevant technical and artisanal background and be available over short term to fill the position.

REQUIREMENTS:
• National N6 or National diploma in Building/Construction engineering and/or mechanical/Civil engineering.
• A minimum of six years post-trade test hands on experience in built plumbing or related trade environment of which minimum of two years fulfilled in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Experience of the built and/or plumbing environment.
• A good generalist in technical fields such as plumbing, carpentry, building, welding, electrical, tiling, dry-walling, painting, flooring, waterproofing, etc.
• Knowledgeable on materials, products and safe work practices.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in plumbing and building maintenance.
• Knowledge of commercial and domestic building infra-structures.
• Knowledge of commercial white/grey boxing and shopfitting.
• Knowledge of roofing systems.
• Knowledge on SANS10 400 series of Building and Plumbing regulations.
• Knowledge of OHSA and safe work practices.
• Ability to perform assessments and compile reports and quotes.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, manage and lead the activities of technical teams.

JOB OVERVIEW
• Plan and direct all Plumbing and Building department jobs.
