Our Story
Tarryn’s yoga journey began in 2013 when she walked into a Vinyasa class at her local gym with the aim of gaining flexibility. After years of playing sport; provincial touch rugby and university hockey, she knew her body needed a change! She left the studio with much more than a stretch – she left with a sense of discovery, a drive… a curiosity. She continued to practice yoga through her days studying Occupational Therapy at University of Pretoria, visiting the gym and following YouTube videos.
Tarryn found a sense of comfort in yoga. It was the place where she could find herself, yet lose herself at the same time. Tarryn completed her Yoga Teacher Training in 2016 and has not stopped learning since. With her fun and playful approach, she encourages her students to practice mindful movements while exploring and experimenting with new shapes. Her love for creative sequencing makes her classes exciting and interesting. As a singer, Tarryn will be incorporating beautiful chanting and singing into the meditative parts of her yoga classes leaving you feeling completely restored.
She has a passion for developing the yoga community and started the initiative Yoga South Africa to build awareness within her country. Yoga South Africa has grown tremendously and she couldn't be more proud to be involved with this community.
