The diagnosis of diabetes can get very scary and overwhelming… leaving so many unsure about what is healthy and acceptable to eat. Here is a delicious low carb smoothie that can be enjoyed . It contains lots of nutrients and good unsaturated fats to lower the GI and keep you fuller for longer. Ingredients
150ml Unsweetened almond milk
1/2 Cup unsweetened coconut water
Ice as desired
1 Serving whey protein isolate (aim for 80g protein/100g)
150g plain low fat yogurt
20g almonds
1/2 cup berries of choice
Bulk on veggies like spinach/kale/cucumber

Nutritional information
Calories 1500-1600KJ
Carbs 15g
Protein 22-26g
Fat 12g
