In a medical breakthrough, researchers at Newcastle University have 3D-printed the world’s first human corneas using stem cells and a specially formulated bio-ink — offering hope to millions suffering from corneal blindness.

The entire process takes just 10 minutes, using a low-cost 3D printer to shape a personalized cornea from a gel containing stem cells, alginate, and collagen. The printed cornea not only held its shape but kept the cells alive, a key milestone in tissue engineering.
