‼️REMEMBER! MOST medical aids have a separate benefit for wound management!

This means that a qualified and registered specialist wound care nurse practitioner, is able to apply for authorisation for specialised/advanced wound management with a medical aid, in order for the claims to be paid from the medical aid's advanced wound care benefit. Meaning that even if you are on a hospital plan or your medical aid savings are depleted, if an authorisation is approved and an authorisation number obtained from the medical aid, the medical aid will pay the claims out of the advanced wound care benefit/hospital benefit and not from the savings.
