🚨 DID YOU KNOW? MEN CAN GET "REACTIONS" DURING A STROKE! 🚨

It sounds strange, but it’s true—some men experience an er****on during a stroke. This happens because strokes can affect the brainstem and spinal cord, which control involuntary functions like blood flow and muscle control.

🔴 Why does this matter?
Many people hesitate to help when they see this reaction, thinking it’s something inappropriate. But in reality, this could be a sign of a life-threatening emergency!

💡 What should you do?
✅ Check for other stroke symptoms: Sudden weakness, slurred speech, drooping face, or confusion.
✅ Call emergency services IMMEDIATELY. Every second counts!
✅ Turn the person on their side to prevent choking if they lose consciousness.

NEVER ignore a medical emergency just because it looks unusual. A stroke can be deadly if not treated fast!

For years, we’ve been told that ambulances will arrive "soon" when there’s an emergency. But let’s be honest—"soon" can mean 30 minutes, an hour… or NEVER.

So, what happens in that time? People die. Loved ones, children, friends—just because no one around them knew what to do.

This isn’t about waiting. This is about taking action. First aid is NOT just for doctors. It’s for YOU, me, and every person in our communities.

Would you know what to do if your child stopped breathing right now? If your answer isn’t a confident YES, it’s time to change that.

We’re here to teach you how to SAVE LIVES, because the truth is… help is not always coming.

🚨 Important Update from Boloka Usizo First Aid Training 🚨

Dear Community,

We know it has been a while since our last update, and we appreciate your patience. Over the past few weeks, we have been working behind the scenes to resolve important accreditation and licensing matters. As you may know, our free first aid workshop had to be postponed due to these requirements, as well as concerns raised regarding the number of attendees after discussions with the Speaker of Metsimaholo Municipality.

Here’s where we stand:
✅ All necessary paperwork has been filed.
✅ Our team members who require accreditation are in the process of obtaining it.
✅ We are committed to ensuring that all our training sessions meet the highest standards.

We understand that the delay may have caused disappointment, but we want to assure you that our mission remains the same: to equip communities with lifesaving first aid skills. We will be back soon with more updates, including a new date for the workshop.

In the meantime, stay engaged with us! We will resume posting valuable first aid tips and content to keep you informed and prepared.

‼️ Alcohol Poisoning: Know the Signs & Act Fast ‼️

Alcohol poisoning can be life-threatening! Do you know how to recognize it?

📌 Immediate Signs:
✅ Strong smell of alcohol
✅ Reduced response level
✅ Moist, reddened face
✅ Deep, noisy breathing
✅ Full, bounding pulse
✅ Slurred speech, confusion
✅ Sickness & vomiting

⏳ Delayed Signs (Dangerous!):
⚠️ Shallow breathing
⚠️ Weak, rapid pulse
⚠️ Dilated pupils with poor reaction to light
⚠️ Unresponsiveness

🚨 What to Do:
✔️ Call emergency services IMMEDIATELY 📞
✔️ Keep the person awake & sitting up if possible
✔️ If unconscious, place them in the recovery position
✔️ Monitor their breathing & pulse
✔️ Never leave them alone

‼️ DO NOT:
❌ Let them "sleep it off"
❌ Give them coffee or more alcohol
❌ Make them walk it off

Alcohol poisoning is a medical emergency—Act fast, save a life!

✅ Answer: This is a tourniquet!

A tourniquet is a life-saving tool used to stop severe bleeding in an emergency when direct pressure isn't enough. It’s typically applied to arms or legs to temporarily restrict blood flow until medical help arrives.

⚠️ Important Tips:
✔️ Place it 2-3 inches above the wound, but never on a joint.
✔️ Tighten until the bleeding stops.
✔️ Note the time it was applied and inform emergency responders.
✔️ Only use it as a last resort to prevent excessive blood loss.
