Today on World Autism Acceptance Day let’s be mindful of the fact that being Neurodivergent may make our kiddies do things a little differently, but it doesn’t make them less! We need to recognise how we can change to be more inclusive, supportive & accepting so that they feel safe in our world and are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

- visual schedules are a visual representation of the child's day
- this is especially helpful for kids that benefit from routine and may have anxiety around unpredictability
- the schedule can include everyday visuals like bath time/story time as well as things that can be considered out of routine e.g. Mall/restaurant
- because most autistic children are stronger visually, the visuals are more helpful compared to if you give verbal explanations of their day
