Preparation for World Sight Day 👁 is done months in advance. Dr Jerusha John Ophthalmologist at Port Shepstone Provincial Hospital will carry out Cataract Catch-up Surgery there and at Hibiscus Private Hospital as part of Gift of the Givers expanding relationship with private health care facilities. Nichelle Ramprsad (Intamed) provides all surgical consumables and machinery necessary for cataract surgery. Ayesha Ismail Sooliman (Gift of the Givers Medical Coordinator) will be coordinating the cataract surgery and other medical programmes.
