When I say this journey is a rollercoaster, I mean it. Chemo is no joke! My cancer markers are up, and on Friday, it felt like I was fighting a losing battle. But after a few days of feeling sorry for myself, I gathered my thoughts and words, because I had none and reminded myself that God has been with me every step of the way for the past 7 years. This is just another part of the cancer journey, part of the downs on this rollercoaster...

**CHEMO UPDATE:**
I've lost some weight, so they had to adjust my chemo to a lower dose because of it. It’s not the news I was hoping for, especially so early in this race, but I’m still here, and that means God is NOT done with me yet!
I can do this!
My body can do this!
My mind can do this!

I have to have this...

Chemo #2
Today's chemo feels like just another item on my to-do list, not as emotional as last week.

We had athletics today, hence the bow in my hair. This air-conditioning is lovely right now, but I can't wait for this to be over so I can move on to the next exciting activity of the day.

I think my go-go-go spirit and attitude are what I would advise anyone going through something similar to have. Life is tough already, so don't make it harder for yourself in your mind.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped, contributed, supported, planned, hosted events, bought tickets, and purchased merchandise to help me raise the funds needed for Lynparza. I will always be extremely grateful! 🙏

If it wasn't for this medication, let's be completely honest, I wouldn't be here today. Lynparza gave me 18 precious months:
- 18 months of living without pain
- 18 months full of love and support
- 18 months of hope
- 18 months without hospital visits
- 18 months without major life-threatening situations
- 18 months of living
- 18 months of resting my body from chemo

I’m deeply sorry to share that my cancer has progressed and is resisting the current treatments. My markers are too high to continue on this medication (they tripled in one month).

But now I have the opportunity to fight back. I will be starting chemo next Friday, as this is unfortunately the only option available for me at this moment. I have "fresh legs," as they call it 😉, and will give it all I’ve got, like I always do!

I'm sorry if I have disappointed anyone, but thank you so much for these 18 months! Your support has been invaluable. 🤍 Now we trust only in GOD!

APPEL 2024 Hierdie dag sal ek nooit kan vergeet nie als tedanke aan Magda en Shanie wat uit hul pad gegaan het om hierdie tereel. Ek haal my hoed af vir die uure se aandag aan elke klein ding. Appel was n reuse sukses met n sold out show. Dankie aan die fighting on with ilze Crew (Harts vriendinne) wat ook gehelp het met beplanning en reelings. Julle my hart is VOL en loop oop van dankbaarheid!
