Young Hearts, Big Impact!
We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the Grade 7 EarlyAct Service Team from Chelsea Preparatory School not too long ago— and what a joyful visit it was!

Accompanied by their teachers, Mrs Raghunundan and Miss Pillay, the students treated our residents to a lovely afternoon of tea, sweet baked treats, music, and heartfelt conversation. From beautiful choir performances including a violin, their musical talents brought smiles all around. 🎶

The EarlyAct Service Team is part of Chelsea Prep’s respected service programme, which encourages every Grade 7 learner to give back — not just through academics, sport, or culture, but through meaningful acts of kindness in their community.

Our residents were absolutely delighted — from playing chess to enjoying performances, the energy and compassion of these young students made a lasting impression.

Thank you, Chelsea Preparatory School, for reminding us all how powerful it is to serve with love. 💐

In honour of Mandela Day, MPVR Cloud Accountants visited Bill Buchanan Home for the Aged and treated our residents to toiletries, groceries and treats 🥰

Meet Percy – our behind-the-scenes hero at Bill Buchanan Home 💙 🛠️
Percy is one of our dedicated casual workers, and he’s currently restoring and reviving essential bedroom equipment like beds, trolleys, commodes, and bedside cupboards.

In a world that often moves too fast, we believe in caring for what we have. As a non-profit organisation, every item in our home is valued – many of them generously donated – and Percy’s skilled hands ensure they continue to serve our residents.

At Bill Buchanan Home for the Aged, we provide a secure, loving environment for elderly residents who are no longer able to provide for their own retirement.

At Bill Buchanan Association for the Aged, our wonderful group of ladies are keeping busy by knitting for others this winter — but we’re running low on wool!

🎶✨ Joy Across Generations ✨🎶

Just the other day our hearts were full; as a talented group of young singers and dancers from St James Durban School brought smiles, music, and love to our residents. 💃🕺🎤

Their beautiful performances lit up the room, and to top it off, they handed out delicious biscuit hampers to each resident — a sweet treat and an even sweeter gesture.❤️

Thank you to these incredible kids (and their teacher!) for sharing their time and talents. Your kindness reminded us all that community, compassion, and connection know no age. 🌟

🌿 Meet Fy — a radiant soul who reminds us daily that grace, strength, and joy have no age limit. At 85 years young, Fy joined our family here at Bill Buchanan Home for the Aged in January 2025. 💛

From the moment she arrived, she was drawn to the peaceful energy that flows through our home — a calm, comforting atmosphere that felt just right.

Fy especially loves taking quiet walks in the shade, where dappled sunlight and fresh air make each stroll a moment of reflection and joy. Whether it’s under the trees or in the garden paths, she finds peace in nature and brings a gentle calm wherever she goes. 🌳✨

We’re so grateful to have Fy with us — her kind heart and serene spirit make our community even brighter.
