Today, on World Autism Awareness Day, we pause to learn, reflect, and celebrate neurodiversity 💙

Autism is not a one-size-fits-all experience. It’s a spectrum, meaning every individual has their own unique strengths, challenges, and ways of seeing the world. Some may communicate differently, some may experience sensory sensitivity, and others may have incredible focus, creativity, or memory.

What matters most is understanding.

✨ Be patient
✨ Be kind
✨ Listen without judgement
✨ Create spaces where everyone feels seen and supported

Awareness is important, but acceptance is powerful. When we move beyond labels and take time to understand each other, we build communities where everyone can thrive.

Let’s continue to learn, support, and celebrate every mind, just as it is 💙

✨ Let’s Talk About Acne ✨

Acne is a common skin condition that affects both teenagers and adults. It happens when pores become clogged with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria — leading to pimples, blackheads, and sometimes painful breakouts.

Here’s what you should know:

🧴 It’s not just about hygiene
Acne is influenced by hormones, genetics, stress, and certain skincare products — not just how often you wash your face.

🚫 Avoid picking or popping pimples
This can worsen inflammation, cause infections, and lead to scarring.

🧼 Use gentle, suitable products
Harsh products can irritate your skin and make acne worse. Always choose products suited for your skin type.

🥗 Lifestyle matters too
Diet, stress levels, and sleep can all play a role in your skin health.

⚠️ Not all acne is the same
What works for one person may not work for another — which is why personalized treatment is important.

👩🏽‍⚕️ Need help with your skin?
If you struggle with acne, you can contact Dr Cele at Healthy Me Medical Centre for treatment tailored specifically to your skin type.

Healthy skin is a journey, not a race — take care of it with patience and the right support

💊 Let’s Talk About Amoxicillin 💊

Amoxicillin is a commonly used antibiotic that treats bacterial infections like chest infections, ear infections, sinusitis, and some dental infections.

Here’s what you need to know:

🦠 It only works on bacteria
Amoxicillin won’t help for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

⏰ Take it exactly as prescribed
Even if you start feeling better, finish the full course to make sure the infection is completely cleared.

🍽️ You can take it with or without food
But if it upsets your stomach, taking it with food can help.

⚠️ Possible side effects
Some people may experience nausea, diarrhea, or a mild rash. If you notice severe reactions like difficulty breathing or swelling, seek medical help immediately.

🚫 Don’t share your medication
Amoxicillin is prescribed based on your specific condition — it’s not one-size-fits-all.

💡 Important tip
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember — but don’t double up doses.

Using amoxicillin correctly helps it work effectively and prevents antibiotic resistance. Take care of your body, and use it wisely. 🌿

What is Cryosurgery? A Quick Dermatology Guide

Cryosurgery (also called cryotherapy) is a simple, in-office dermatological procedure that uses extreme cold to treat various skin conditions. The most commonly used agent is liquid nitrogen, which freezes and destroys abnormal or unwanted tissue.

🔬 How does it work?
When liquid nitrogen is applied to the skin, it rapidly freezes the targeted cells. This causes controlled damage, leading to the destruction of abnormal tissue while allowing healthy skin to heal in its place.

✨ What can it treat?
Cryosurgery is commonly used for:
• Warts
• Skin tags
• Actinic keratoses (precancerous lesions)
• Certain superficial skin cancers
• Seborrheic keratoses (benign growths)

⏱️ What to expect during the procedure:
• Quick treatment (usually a few minutes)
• Mild stinging or burning sensation
• Temporary redness, blistering, or scabbing afterward

🩹 Recovery & aftercare:
Healing typically takes 1–3 weeks depending on the treated area. Keeping the area clean and protected is key for proper healing.

⚠️ Is it safe?
Yes—when performed by a trained professional, cryosurgery is a safe and effective treatment with minimal downtime.

💡 Pro tip:
Always consult a qualified healthcare provider to determine if cryosurgery is right for your specific skin concern.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 💛 A time to gently turn the spotlight onto a condition that many women live with silently.

Endometriosis happens when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. This tissue can attach to the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and other organs in the pelvis. Because it responds to hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle, it can cause inflammation, severe pain, heavy periods, fatigue, and sometimes fertility challenges.

For many women, symptoms are often dismissed as “just bad period pain.” But endometriosis is a real medical condition that deserves understanding, early diagnosis, and compassionate care.

Some common signs include:
• Severe menstrual cramps
• Pelvic or lower back pain
• Pain during or after in*******se
• Heavy or irregular periods
• Digestive issues or fatigue around menstruation
• Difficulty falling pregnant

If you or someone you love experiences symptoms like these, know that you are not alone, and support and treatment options are available.

This month, we raise awareness, encourage open conversations, and remind every woman that her pain is valid and her health matters.

💛 Let’s listen.
💛 Let’s learn.
💛 Let’s support those living with endometriosis.

What you do after the pimple is gone determines whether you'll be left with a dark mark (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) for the next six months.

The Post-Breakout Tips:

✔ Hands Off: Do not pick at the healing skin. Let the scab fall off naturally.

✔Treat Gently: Use a soothing, barrier-repairing cream (with ceramides or panthenol) to help the skin rebuild.

✔Protect at all costs: Fresh skin is like a baby, extremely sensitive to the sun.

Healing takes time. Be kind to your skin while it does the work.

DID YOU KNOW? Not all sunscreens are the same.

Look for:
✔ Broad-spectrum (UVA & UVB protection)
✔ SPF 30 or higher
✔ Water-resistant formulas if swimming

Reapply every 2 hours — especially during outdoor activities.

In our sunny climate, daily SPF is not optional — it’s essential.
