🚫 What not to pack for Kwela Camp! 🏕️
�To keep things simple and fun for everyone, please leave these items at home:�🍭 Snacks – We’ve got snack time covered, and campers can use their tokens at the tuckshop!�💰 Money – No cash needed; tokens are earned and used for treats.�💨 Hairdryers – The campsite runs on its own power supply, so no hairdryers, please.�📱 Cellphones – No phones in bags or with children. Parents can contact their child during shower hour via the cabin leader’s phone.

Robyn is an Ayres Sensory Integration occupational therapist based in Somerset West. She attended her first kwela camp in 2018 and has been at Kwela camp ever since! Robyn is this year's president offsite coordinator so will be making sure things run smoothly on your Kwela Safari 🦓🦒🦏🐘

Yumna is an OT who is a big believer in helping to create critical thinkers and creative doers. Yumna completed her BSc in OT at UCT in 2014 and went on to start her certification in Ayres Sensory Integration®️ she is fully qualified since 2020.

She completed her Masters in Education in 2022 and continues to live her passion within education; bringing OT into mainstream classrooms while supporting both the teachers and parents in nourishing our little humans to bloom into their best selves.

Outside of her OT life, you can find Yumna on the hockey field, or hiking on the mountains or reading a good book!

Jaimie is definitely a big Kid With Energy who Loves Activity! She has worked at 7 KWELA camps since 2014 and loved every single one... Her favourite part is both meeting new kids every year and welcoming back those who are lucky enough to attend KWELA more than once =) She enjoys the morning warm-up dance and Life Skills groups most of all!! When she's not excitedly planning for KWELA, Jaimie facilitates private OT sessions with children of all ages, as well as runs enrichment groups at pre-schools in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Hi! I am Elana. I’m a dynamic OT with 7+ years of clinical experience and a deep passion for working with children. I completed my studies at the University of the Free State (2017), followed by a research master’s degree (2021) focusing on paediatric therapy and Ayres Sensory Integration—areas close to my heart. In 2024, I completed my formal ASI certification, further equipping me to support children through sensory-informed intervention.

Currently, I manage a busy paediatric caseload at Kenridge Occupational Therapy, where I prioritise meaningful outcomes for the children and families I serve.
I believe that caring for others starts with caring for yourself. I strive to bring a grounded, balanced, and ethical approach to every part of my work—treating each client with the respect and dignity they deserve.
