In my daily reading today, the message that was evident is one about living a balanced life. Living well is interconnected. Mind, body and soul working in unison. To be healthy the body needs exercise, the mind must be kept sharp and alert, and emotions must be healed and restored. The joys of love, laughter and enjoyment must form part of life. To remain flexible, exercise is a non-negotiable as is proper eating. Wishing you a long, healthy life. Time for me to get off the couch!

Stop doing this.

There comes a point in life where you need to stop chasing toxic people and start seeking a mentally stable person who reciprocates back your efforts and consistency .

Here are some important things to remember....

Don’t ever assume your partner feels loved.

Date nights are mandatory.

Talking openly about what you want to change in your relationship is important.

Learn each others love languages.
We all don’t perceive love the same way.

Never go to bed angry.

When you get into a fight, don’t just say “I’m sorry”. Say what you are sorry for, and how you will react differently next time.

It will get boring sometimes.
Every couple goes through the “boring” stage.

It’s normal and it will eventually subside.
This is the time in your relationship you will have to put the most effort in.

Some days you will have to pull more weight than your partner, and vice versa.

It’s important to check in on each other’s mental health.

It’s perfectly okay to go to couples counselling.

Let your partner know what you expect from them, and vice versa.

Turn off the phones an hour before bedtime and have genuine heartfelt conversations with each other.

Ask questions like

“What do you need to see more of from me?”

“How can we understand each other better?”

And most importantly, be kind to each other.

Love each other.

Fight for each other.

Remember, love is never easy, and it’s one hell of a ride.

But at the end of the day when the dust settles down...it's definitely worth it.

Take my hand and come with me,
I want to teach you about ADHD.
I need you to know, I want to explain,
I have a very different brain.
Sights, sounds and thoughts collide.
What to do first? I can’t decide.
Please understand I'm not to blame,
I just can't process things the same.

Take my hand and walk with me,
Let me show you about ADHD.
I try to behave, I want to be good,
But I sometimes forget to do as I should.
Walk with me and wear my shoes,
You'll see its not the way I'd choose.
I do know what I'm supposed to do,
But my brain is slow getting the message through.

Take my hand and talk with me,
I want to tell you about ADHD.
I rarely think before I talk,
I often run when I should walk.
It's hard to get my school work done,
My thoughts are outside having fun.
I never know just where to start,
I think with my feelings and see with my heart.

Take my hand and stand by me,
I need you to know about ADHD.
It's hard to explain but I want you to know,
I can't help letting my feelings show.
Sometimes I'm angry, jealous, or sad.
I feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and mad.
I can't concentrate and I lose all my stuff.
I try really hard but it's never enough.

Take my hand and learn with me,
We need to know more about ADHD.
I worry a lot about getting things wrong,
Everything I do takes twice as long.
Everyday is exhausting for me...
Looking through the fog of ADHD.
I'm often so misunderstood,
I would change in a heartbeat if I could.

Take my hand and listen to me,
I want to share a secret about ADHD.
I want you to know there is more to me.
I'm not defined by it, you see.
I'm sensitive, kind and lots of fun.
I'm blamed for things I haven't done.
I'm the loyalist friend you'll ever know,
I just need a chance to let it show.

Take my hand and look at me,
Just forget about the ADHD.
I have real feelings just like you.
The love in my heart is just as true.
I may have a brain that can never rest,
But please understand I'm trying my best.
I want you to know, I need you to see,
I'm more than the label, I am still me!!!!

Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (or TRE®) is a simple yet innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance. Watch this video to learn more about TRE®
Book for the TRE® Workshops that will be held from 10 May to 14 June 2022.

This is an easy explanation of TRE. It is a method of stress reduction that is simple and easy to apply because it naturally follows the physiology of the hu...

Share your visions, your dreams and what is true for you with one another. Trust in the response. As unique individuals, differences matter and need to be nurtured. In intimate relationship, talk about your fears, insecurities and self doubt with the intention of being supportive of one another. Always have the other’s best interests at heart. Be aware if that gets in the way of your personal agenda or clashes with your values. Maintain your integrity and your perspective on who you are and what you want. If a relationship matters to you, make the time to give one another undivided, focused attention. In conversation, listen attentively, ask questions to expand understanding, express your feelings and give honest feedback. Speak your needs and share your thoughts and ideas. Nobody enjoys one-sided conversation. Have real conversations. Aim to emerge from every conversation with more knowledge than you went into it.

Mark Twain said, “If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.”

Be honest. Respectfully share your positive and negative feelings and emotions to grow your understanding of one another.

Avoid shutting down and stonewalling. Weaponised silence divides and separates and is never an effective communication strategy.

Practice devotion and unconditional love for yourself and others. Recognise others as an extension of yourself. We tend to gravitate towards people who mirror us in some way. A truly deep soul connection will allow both to grow as individuals and together.
