TO HAVE ELDERS, is RADICAL

“An elder is a person recognised for age, experience, wisdom, and authority - someone who holds social, spiritual, or communal responsibility rather than just biological age.”
 
It is with great excitement - and honour - that I share with you the elders who are joining Radical Woman.
 
When was the last time you actually sat and listened to an elder?

Someone shaped by wisdom and devotion to what they are in service to.

Someone close enough to your own culture and reality to be recognizable, yet brave enough to step beyond it. 
 
Someone who chooses legacy over comfort, and responsibility over ease.

Grandmother wisdom that is embodied, wild, and uncorrupted by centuries of patriarchal conditioning is so rare.

It is so radical.
 
This is why these women stand out to me as personal teachers and elders - women I have had the great gift of learning with and being guided by.

These women are fierce in their loving.
Brave and loyal to their cause.

Their cause being the empowerment and liberation of ALL.

Some radical notes as this year comes to a gentle close.

My devotion to the work of women is my devotion to the work of collective healing.

Women, as (who will be part of our Racial Woman) so aptly says, “the suppression of women & their biological intelligence is the suppression of the very mechanisms that generate light & life.”

I often get asked, “but what about men” & my answer remains the same, wo(men) - includes men - even the word itself holds them.

A woman, embodied, liberated, connected to her womb & heart is a literal portal for men to birth through.

A woman who has done the messy, dirty, & excruciating work of dearmouring her heart & womb meets men (her lovers, brothers, partners) from a place of true compassion & connection.

A mother who is supported, protected, well-nourished & resourced becomes the bedrock for the entire family.

Without doing the radical work of meeting our rage & grief & generational trauma, as women, we are incapable of “birthing” (in all its manifestations) the harmonious Earth we all ache for.

This year I have had the most delicious & healing relationships with men.

Men who have walked by my side for over a decade & who continue to show up & reveal to me where I myself have finally come into a GENUINE place of softening into their generous & supportive arms.

As says, “people don’t like their hate interrupted.”

The most radical thing we can possibly do is reach beyond the binary & CHOOSE LOVE.

And this love is uncomfortable.

It is not that disassociated “love & light” stuff we all know to be false light.

It is the messy dirty dark & delicious love that takes you UNDER and IN.

It is the composting of lifetimes of hurt & resentment to finally stand up & shout from the rooftops:

I AM READY TO LOVE & BE LOVED.

PLEASURE IS RADICAL

So this is me explaining to my sister why I invested in this self-pleasure course & how profound the recent mirror ritual was that we were invited to do.

Let me preface this by saying that self-pleasure never came naturally to me.

I had a long history of shame, violation, & body dysmorphia growing up, & so pleasure was always something I outsourced.

I relied on external stimulation & never prioritised pleasure for my own sake.

It was awkward & even icky for me because it brought up a lot of old woundings, & so let it be known that this state of sexual liberation has been many years in the making.

I also want to preface this by saying that self-pleasure is NOT about the or**sm.

This specific ritual happened to evoke a profound experience of multiple or**sms for me personally, but the intention was never about that.

My reason for joining this recent self-pleasure course was quite literally to juice up my life.

I realised I would do everything on my endless “to-do” list but take the slow sweet time to tend to my own body.

Over the past few months, I have been practicing body massage, yoni tending, root (a**s) tending, breast tending, & I believe through all of this softening & somatic opening I have been allowing my or**smic states to ripple into new waves.

When I speak of the “sneeze” or**sm I am speaking to that quick contracted “rub out” that many of us know.

What has been so incredible to experience is practicing bringing myself to states of or**sm but instead of contracting & rushing to some “finish line,” I breathe & relax & allow the energy to move freely around my body.

All I can say is pleasure is our m***a f birthright!

It was so incredibly healing to make love to myself in the mirror & literally witness myself in states of such bliss.

It started with frustration & numbness, then tears of grief for how judgemental I have been to my body & later into tears of joy & literal ecstasy for how deep my love is for this temple & for this life & for this last decade of such deep devotion to Her.
