The Mystical Lounge of Body as Art is a theme camp that is to be found at Afrikaburn - usually on the Binnekring. Our theme: To mould and forge one's identity, to let the outer self reflect the inner image, to express oneself as one truly is or would like to be and to use the body as an Art form
Visitors can have their face painted in ethnic designs, adorn their choice of body part with the San C
lan image, get a unique stylish henna design, or get body-painted and maybe have a cocktail everyday at sunset. We welcome all burners who wish to adorn themselves or to relax in our chill areas. We are excited to see old faces from last year as well as a few new ones to join our burn family. We are looking for crew members to join our creative team- anyone who is able to join us in painting and decorating the people of Tankwa Town. All you need is a ticket to Afrikaburn 2015 and a creative streak. Contact our lead camp organiser Sam through this page if you are interested in being part of our burn family. Tent is staffed for a few hours of the day and the rest it serves as simple chill area. Other people are invited to contribute in acordance with the theme and extend the hours. Past years have seen several artists who co-habited with us, with extra activities including yoga, tarot reading, nail designs, hair braiding and temporary tattoos on offer. Daily programme usually has hourly activities associated with one or more body (and mind) adornment: ranging from face painting (dots themes), body painting (for the brave!) and henna tattoos. Mornings and/or Evenings see cocktails being served, the favourites from last year being sangria and rum&coke. Bloody Maries are a good wake up cocktail we find! all activities and times will be published on daily programme board. Our Theme camp is pretty popular and our tent is always full-during the activities as well as after, as sleepy burners chose comfortable spots to catch some sleep.
