Dear Members, please be advised that we have a POTENTIALLY catastrophic event on hand.

YOU ARE KINDLY REQUESTED TO SHARE THIS INFORMATION AS WIDELY AS POSSIBLE.

⚠️Windgusts of up to 165km/h is expected to develop later today over the Atlantic Ocean (west of SA) as the Convergent Coldfront/ Low intensifies while windgusts of up to 140km/h is expected in places in SA during the next 24 hours.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR STRONG WINDS:
▪︎STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
▪︎Secure items outside your home that could be blown away, such as patio furniture, bins etc.
▪︎Remove items from around your home that may be blown into windows/patio doors.
▪︎Keep pets indoors. Shelter outdoor pets, or bring under cover in a protected location.

UPDATE: WEATHER WARNING FOR 29.06.2021 - 01.07.2021
A yellow level 4 warning for rain, resulting in flooding, has been issued for the Overstrand on Tuesday, 29 June 2021 until Thursday, 1 July 2021.

An intense low pressure system is moving into the western and the south-western parts of the Western Cape. This system is expected to result in additional rainfall amounts of 30 - 40mm over the south-western parts of the Province.

Together with the previous rainfall amounts and a cold front making landfall over the south-werstern parts Wednesday evening, the soil is near saturation therefore localised flooding is exptected Tuesday into Thursday morning.

For those travelling - drive carefully and leave plenty of time. Please drive carefully in the rain and remember, 'Wipers on, lights on'.
