I feel deeply troubled by the scale of gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) in South Africa. The statistics we have been reading about are not just numbers - these represent lives, families, and communities shattered by trauma, fear, and loss.

💜 Let's commit to talking about it, understanding it, and standing up against GBVF.

MTTRMRPHS - The Podcast with Dr. S!
Lights, camera, and an unscripted conversation.

Thank you to my friend and colleague, Dr. Sihle Maseko, for creating this unconventional safe space for me to share (and overshare) a little bit about myself, my life, and just being a PERSON in this profession. Here's to humanizing the profession and together amplifying the reality that the journey is nonlinear.
I hope my story will inspire whoever this reaches!

My Official Miss South Africa 2024 Entry Video

My profession privileges me with playing a significant role in individuals' lives. This, coupled with my compassionate character, I often find myself helping others enhance their self-awareness, assisting them in navigating life challenges or even encouraging them to conquer their fears and rise above their limitations.

This decision to enter Miss SA is a step of boldness that I am taking pouring those same efforts into myself. This is me honouring myself by amplifying the voice inside me that whispers “You can do this!” and silencing every other noise that tries to question it. I know that this journey will stretch me and build my capacity even further. It would grant me the opportunity to serve by continuing my mission of making mental health a way of life on a national scale. Help me to realise this dream by supporting me in my journey of becoming your Miss South Africa 2024.

When we feel overwhelmed, our body's natural response kicks in, triggering the fight-or-flight mode. But by consciously focusing on our breath, we can shift gears and activate the relaxation response, calming the nervous system and alleviating symptoms.

So, the next time you're feeling stressed or anxious, take a moment to pause and breathe deeply! 🌬️
