On the 4th of April 2023, my son Noah (age 9) was playing in our complex with a group of kids that also live in the complex, they were all on school holiday so they were keeping themselves busy, riding their bikes and skateboards in and around the designated area in our complex. A car arriving home at lunch time unfortunately did not see Noah sitting on a skateboard he was racing on with the other kids, and unfortunately he drove over my son accidently while i was at home working. The impact of the car driving over him was isolated to Noah’s upper thighs, Pelvis and lower abdominal area, to my relief my son was walked to me after the car drove over him. He was immediately rushed into do a CAT scan to check for broken bones and internal bleeding. The nurse came back and told us no internal bleeding and no broken bones (I broke down in tears of relief), but they did find cysts on both his kidneys and would like to keep him overnight for observation. The next day Noah's pediatrician informed us of the blood work taken and that although Noah’s Kidneys took serious strain from the car crushing him, but that was over and above the cysts on the kidneys putting added stress to them, she also asked us if we ever had him tested previously and if he was ever was sick or showed any sort of symptoms that he had renal or kidney issues, I pride myself in the fact both my boys are always healthy and RARELY need to visit the doctor. During our 9 day long stay in hospital, 3 specialist, countless blood work and test (on myself and Noah’s dad included) later, we have been told Noah has a rare polycystic kidney disease on BOTH kidneys, we are still in our early stages of diagnosis, there will be more specialists to see and tests to run to find the cause and origin, this is where i need assistance as our Medical aid will not cover all the testing he needs to have done, on top of the dialysis and kidney transplant in his future, when exactly he will need to start these will only be determined once all testing is completed. There is also a possibility Noah will also need a liver transplant, provided all the testing he needs to have done now delivers us the news we hope for, we pray for now that this wont be the case and the tests deliver results that say otherwise. I am a single mom that does my best to raise 2 boys, and its a struggle every month already to get by with the day to day needs, not only do I have Noah to now worry about but another son entering high school wanting his hopes, dreams and support fulfilled by myself too. My plea to all of you incredible human beings, is to help me ensure that my Noah gets the best care he deserves, he is a bright little boy with a bright future, Achieving top 3 academic marks in his grade since Grade 1. His love for swimming and cricket also sees him achieving awards for these annually too. Its never easy asking for help, but I need to do this for Noah! My son will change the world one day, please help me make sure he will be able to do so with any contribution you are able to spare to his very long journey ahead. Any and all donations will be so gratefully received and myself and my family will be eternally indebted to your kindness. Noah built his ark slowly in the bible to save the world, and that is why I am starting to build my Noah's little ark to save him. Please note amount we would like to raise is an estimate given to us and includes future dialysis and transplant. Forever grateful. Noah's Mommy
