🧠 Understanding the 3 Types of Trauma 💔

Trauma can impact anyone, but it doesn’t look the same for everyone. Here’s a closer look at the three main types of trauma:

Acute Trauma: This type of trauma results from a single distressing event, like a car accident, natural disaster, or a sudden loss. It’s the kind of shock that comes from one intense experience. Even though it may seem like a one-time event, the effects can linger long after, affecting a person’s mental and emotional well-being. 🌪️

Chronic Trauma: Chronic trauma occurs when someone is exposed to distressing situations over an extended period of time. This can include long-term abuse, domestic violence, bullying, or living through a war. The constant stress and fear can deeply affect a person’s mental and physical health, creating long-lasting challenges. 📅

Complex Trauma: This type of trauma is often the result of repeated or multiple traumatic events, particularly those that occur during childhood. Complex trauma can involve exposure to abuse, neglect, or instability in early years, affecting a person’s development and relationships throughout their life. 🌪️📅
