“Pigmentation Doesn’t End With the Peel” 📈🕥
Cosmelan is brilliant for shutting down excess pigment formation — but long-term control requires consistency, barrier support and disciplined sun protection.
This is my personal maintenance routine after doing Cosmelan on myself:
🌞 Morning Routine (Pigment Control + Barrier + UV Discipline)
1. Oil Cleanser (La Roche-Posay) — keeps barrier calm and avoids over-stripping.
2. Dermamelan Maintenance — continues to suppress tyrosinase after the peel phase.
3. Barrier Cream (Lamelle) — inflammation control = pigment control.
4. Lipikar Baume AP+M — hydrates deeply + reinforces microbiome (multiple times daily).
5. Skinceuticals Advanced Brightening UV Sunscreen — three times daily for UV + visible light protection.
🌙 Evening Routine (Retinoid Stimulation Without Barrier Rebellion)
1. Oil Cleanser (La Roche-Posay)
2. “Sandwich” Application:
Lipikar Baume → ZO Brightening Retinol 1% → Lipikar Baume
(keeps retinol active without triggering post-inflammatory pigment)
💡 Why This Works (for me):
✔ sustained melanin suppression
✔ barrier preservation
✔ inflammation control
✔ retinoid stimulation
✔ UV discipline
Pigmentation is not a “one and done” journey — it’s chronic and needs a maintenance mindset. The goal is control, not perfection.

👩⚕️Professional Disclaimer
This is not the official Mesoestetic Cosmelan maintenance protocol. It’s what works best for my own skin, as I prefer a slightly more aggressive, retinoid-based approach.
For patients, I use the approved Cosmelan protocol to ensure safety, tolerance, and predictable outcomes.
