If you are booking a cake smash and want to have a bubble or milk bath for your little one after the smash… coz let’s be honest - that’s often more fun than the actual cake part of the shoot… but you don’t want them to be naked, then just mention it while we are chatting about the setup and plans, and I will be more than happy to offer some coverup options 😊

It’s time to put NPC in your diaries again 👏

For those who don’t know what it is - Raurie and I have been hosting the NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHERS CONVENTION (almost) every year since 2018.
It’s the best (and only) event in South Africa catered especially to Newborn, Maternity, Baby, Cake Smash and Family photographers.
From absolute beginners, to the best in the biz… this event is for everyone who’d like to stock up on their prop collection, meet the vendors and other photographers, and just have a day of fun mingling with the people we often know but have never met.
This is a day of sharing and shopping, and maybe you will even learn something you didn’t know you didn’t know ☺️

So put it in your diary for Tuesday the 28th of October.

I am hosting a Newborn Photography Workshop next week Tuesday and am looking for a baby model that is around 1 week old.

I love almost everything about being a Newborn Photographer… but the thing I love the MOST is teaching others how to do it!

My beginners workshops are aimed at not only showing you how I do it, and sharing a few tips and tricks along the way… Instead - my aim is for you to walk out with the confidence to get started, expand your business or get over the hump of not knowing what to do next.

In this full day workshop, we spend time talking about the community and how to get started in what feels like a very full industry (but babies are born every day 🥰).
I want to share as much info as I can about where to get those props, what editing software to use, and how to use social media to boost your business. We talk about camera settings, lighting, angles and backdrops. As well as the importance of baby safety, communicating with clients, preparing for the shoot and delivering a beautiful gallery of photos.

The day is long, but it is packed with information… and of course a tiny baby will join us so that I can show you how to soothe, wrap, pose and photograph your little client and their family 😊

I know how it feels to get started in an industry where it is hard to get help and to learn how to do things. I also remember having very few props, working out of my lounge and not even knowing my how to send an invoice.

I have often been told that teaching what I do will result in people taking my work from me, but I see it very differently…. Everyone has a different style, way of communicating, packages and location, and it makes me feel good knowing that my clients will hopefully book with me anyway and there is enough to go around 😊

After all - if you want to know how to do it right… you will eventually learn on your own via YouTube videos or trial & error anyway… so my feeling is - why not help you get there quicker, and at the same time, my business also grows 😊

Our next workshop is on the 12th of August in our studio in Jukskei Park.
It will start at 9am and finish around 4pm.
Bring your camera and your questions, we will supply lunch 😊
